Best camera/camcorder for $150 and under?

Q. Friend really wants a video/photo camera for under $150. I know there isn't a lot there but any suggestions? He thinks a video camera that takes photos is his best way to go but I've always gone photo first and video second.

A. Go for the Kodak Playfull, which takes 1080p video and 5MP pictures and all in a small package. It has a small screen, but that's it's only disadvantage:) It has night mode among other things and is pretty good. Gizmodo, and online blog about technology rated this as the best recorder a few days ago.

*this is only because your friend wants video first and then pictures second. This is possibly the best compromise :) however, I would recommend otherwise and go your route having pictures first then videos second :) but that's your friend's choice right? :P

As of right now the UltraHD might be the best for the price ($155 - http://bit.ly/au83Nf ) followed by the Kodak Zi8 ( $180 - http://bit.ly/afSudd )

The one camera that I'm waiting for is the Kodak Playsport, which is waterproof too.

Q. The camera will also be used to video random things. I am mainly concerned about the sound quality.

I currently use the Canon Powershot A1000 IS to record my "covers," but am looking to move to an HD camera that is affordable and portable.

A. There is no real advantage of the MinoHD vs the UltraHD. The Mino HD costs more money than the UltraHD, the Mino HD is thinner but that's the only advantage.

The only other pocket camcorder that I would consider would be the Kodak Zi8 because it offers 1080p video, MIC in, and SD cards. It's not that much than the UltraHD, about $180 http://bit.ly/bKPaP8

Is the flip mino hd good for filming makeup tutorials?

Q. I am a new beauty guru and my old camera is not hd and I cant film good quality videos.When I shoot makeup tutorials the colors dont show up the true color that they are. I want a good cheap hd camera and i was wondering if the flip mino hd camera is good for what I am looking for? I found some on ebay for like 40 dollars
