Q. I need a very cheap (preferably $100 or less) 1080-pixel HD camcorder. I'm into green-screening, so I need a good camcorder. Any suggestions?
Even 720p would work.

A. You would need in excess of $3500 to get a HD camcorder that would have equal Video Quality to a $300 MiniDV camcorder. And a HD consumer level camcorder is a disaster at sporting events..
You can get a Canon ZR 930 for about $300, A camcorder with MiniDV tape as a storage media and Mic jack
I shoot blue screen videos all the time with my Canon ZR cameras

What's up with the cheap 1080p camcorders?
Q. Such as the Kodak playtouch camcorders, why would someone buy a canon vixia instead for around 800 bucks?
A. 1080p is 1080p. Just because is something is 1080p doesn't mean it will look good, all it means is that it will be in HD. Even though HD is high quality doesn't mean it will look good. Image quality has a lot to do with how a camera lens picks up and processes (sensors) light. The Canon Vixia is more expensive because you have more control of your picture. The Canon Vixia will pick up and process light better and you will also have more control, like being able to adjust focus and white balance etc...
It may be expensive but with video you do get what you pay for.
