Can I make a dvd directly from my hard drive camcorder without having to upload all 80gb of data onto my comp?
Q. My problem is that I do not want to store 80GB of data on my computer from my harddrive camcorder. I would need to buy a separate computer just for my camcorder video! I want to connect my camcorder to my computer and then just act like the camcorder is an external hard drive. Is this possible? This is similar to what I do with my digital camera. For example, each time I print photos, I don;t upload them to my computer, I just view them using my computer and then print them. No uploading/saving necessary.

A. Yes, the camcorder is treated as an external hard drive - at least for my Sony HDD camcorder. So you won't need to transfer any video to your computer in order to burn a DVD.

I use the Sony DVD Direct DVD burner - it will burn a DVD directly with the videos from the camcorder...no computers required.
