What is the best Camcorder for recording live music?

Q. It is very loud music and almost always in clubs so it is very dark, ive tried to look online but everything is from 2007 and older. any help would be great, thannks.

A. Anything with manual audio control. I think the Canon HF M series is the least expensive - your other option is to get whatever camcorder you want along with a digital audio recorder. The Zoom H2 or H4 are good examples - Tascam, Roland, Marantz, and many other company make similar "field recorders". When you import the video to a computer for editing, import the audio from the field recorder. Synch the audio with the video and mute the audio that was recorded by the camcorder.

As for the low light behavior of the camcorder... you need large lenses and large imaging chips if the stage lighting is that poor. The Canon HF M and HF R series have 58mm lens filer diameter but a single CMOS imaging chip. Compare these with the likes of a Canon XHA1 or Sony HDR-FX1000. They will get great low-light video... but their lenses and imaging chips are very large...

What is the best consumer line camcorder for recording live music?
Q. I would like to record musicians / bands and create videos but do not have a large budget to draw from. Is there a consumer line camcorder that provides better quality and features for downloading video to a computer for editing without breaking the bank? Thanks for your help.

A. Get a cheap miniDV cam with a mic port and get a shotgun mic such as the rode videomic that uses 1/8" minplugs instead of XLR. Hope this helps!

How do you transfer footage from camcorder to Laptop?

Q. I have a Sony Digital 8 Handycam Camcorder and I have a usb cable for it but I cant put my footage from it onto my laptop all I can do is record while it is connected to my computer.
Can anybody help me please?

A. You should be able to open up your documents program then look at the top where you would find the different drives listed and find one labeled SONY DIGITAL 8 (D:) it could be a different letter though. Then open the file and find the one you want and the download to your computer.

Which camcorder tape is the best for my camcorder?
Q. I have a digital 8 camcorder. What type of hi8 film is the best? I see different kinds still being sold as "premium" "camcorder tape" or "standard quality." I'm thinking that if the data is stored in digital form anyway, it doesn't matter if the tape is "standard" or "premium." There is no noise when it is stored as digital data, right?

A. I would receommed that you look for the best per/minute price on name brand metal particle tapes. The premium, standard, etc. designators are marketing terms and are not very reliable to indicate actual tape quality.

The concern with choosing a tape for digital video purposes is not noise so much as longevity and compatible tape formulation. Digital8 systems are designed to record most accurately on metal particle tapes. Formerly MP's were only available when labelled as Hi8 or Digital8 but this has now changed and almost all 8mm tapes are metal particle formulations as well.

You should archive your recordings at SP recording speed because LP may be difficult to playback on a different machine because of minute variations if the tape path alignment.

Also, longer tapes are available under Digital8 labels than Hi8 or 8mm. The 90/135 Digital8 tapes will go 90 minutes in SP vs. the 60 minutes that a Hi8/8mm 120/180 tape will run in a Digital8 machine.

what is the best way to record two wireless mics on a camcorder?

Q. I am looking for the best way possible to record, 2 wireless mics onto one camcorder. I have a BeachTek 4 with 2 xlr inputs. If anyone has a good method please tell me.

Thnks

A. Use the BeachTek... is this a trick question?

Mic base stations into the BeachTek; BeachTek into the camcorder's mic-in jack. That's how I connect my Shure lavalieres' base stations...

I guess it would help to know which mics and base stations and which camcorder...

When using an external wireless mic, should I use one or 2 channels on my camcorder?
Q. Im looking to get the Cleanest sound at a wedding.
My cam has XLR inputs but I dont know whats the correct procedure.
Its the first pro cam I have and I have no clue about sound

A. Too bad you did not tell us which camcorder.

A decent camcorder or camera with XLR inputs splits to left/right audio. There will be a selector near the XLR connectors on the camcorder that indicates "M"ono or "S"tereo.

If you have one mic plugged into only one audio channel and "S"tereo selected, then the audio will be recorded to that one side and the other side will have no audio. If you want, you can copy this single audio channel to the blank channel when you edit.

If you have one mic plugged into only one audio channel and "M"ono selected, then the same audio will be recorded to both sides.

Your question is a perfect example as to why you should PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE with the equipment you have BEFORE you arrive at the gig so you know what to expect when everything is ready to go and you press record. If you do not go and try this *NOW*, you are wasting the opportunity to learn how your equipment works.

What is a good camera for taking pictures at concerts?

Q. I go to a lot of concerts and I like to take pictures of the bands. The camera I have works decent, but a lot of the pictures turn out blurry or just not good. I'm not looking for anything too pricey (definitely less than $200) and I'm not doing any professional work so I don't need anything too fancy, but I would like to have more than a few good photos from a concert.
Thanks! :)

A. What ever camera you take to a concert is going to be a compromise. I love my music, but I find that if I take the DSLR then it gets in the way of me enjoying myself (could be the fact that the music I enjoy is well.. energetic). If I take my compact, it's really not that good in low light conditions.
So If I have to take one, and I can get permission from the artists/venue I use a camcorder that I have. It's only 6MP, but it has a decent lens with a large aperture (the flash is useless but I try to use the available light), it's smaller than the DSLR but take great photo's in low-light (oddly I wouldn't rank it's photo's in normal lighting conditions).

What is the best digital camera for concerts?
Q. I'm thinking about buying my very first camera. I don't know any technical terms for what I want...just that it should take awesome concert pictures. I attend a lot of rock concerts where lights are always flashing and people are always rocking out. So I need something that will work well without flash and that will capture moving objects well. I would also like for it to be compact. Sometimes venues don't allow cameras so I need it to be small enough to hide. I would also like it to have video capabilities and a decent zoom. Thanks in advance for any replies.

A. what ask for doesnt exist

u want video and small so no slrs

the fuji f30 or f11 if you want something cheaper are prob your best bets...but since you dont want to use flash your prob not gona get the results your looking for

a mini camcorder with 0 lux might be a better idea for what your asking

What should I look for in buying a GOOD, AFFORDABLE, video camera?

Q.

A. Panasonic, Panasonic, Panasonic!

You should look for a camera that is similar to the one listed below. The Panasonic PV-GS300 is listed below and is a great camera for around $500. (Hopefully by affordable, you mean in the range of $500-1000.) Other good Panasonic brand camcorders include the PV-GS320 and the PV-GS500.

•10x Optical Zoom and 700x Digital Zoom
•2.7” Widescreen LCD Display (123,000 pixels)
•3CCD (3 x 800,000 pixel, 1/6” CCD image sensors for best quality and clarity photos and video. The same kind of system used in professional broadcast cameras means crisp color reproduction, thanks to a separate CCD for reds, greens, and blues. (most camcorders just have 1CCD)
•Recording system NTSC
•SP and LP recording and playback modes (most MiniDV tapes are 60 minutes, but in LP you can record 90 minutes on these tapes)
•Video and Photos can be taken in 16:9 (widescreen) or 4:3 (regular)
•High-quality Lecia lens (37 mm)
•5 preprogrammed auto exposure modes for a variety of shooting options
•OIS (optical image stabilizer…minimizes shake and vibration distortion) This is a helpful tool, but if you want still images use a tripod.
•Soft skin detail mode (softens details to reduce skin imperfections when shooting close-ups)
•MagicPix (allows full color recording in low light)
•1-touch navigation with easy joystick control
•3.1 MP photos in Photo Mode with build in flash that can be turned on/off. Photo size is determined by what mode you have the camcorder set at. (video/photo and 16:9/4:3) In Video mode, the photos are smaller and quality is not as good as taking a photo in Photo mode.
o.2 MP photo size is 640 x 360
o.3 MP photo size is 640 x 480
o1 MP photo size is 1280 x 960
o2 MP photo size is 1600 x 1200
o2.4 MP photo size is 2048 x 1152
o3.1 MP photo size is 2048 x 1512
•Min shutter speed is 1/30 sec
•Max shutter speed is 1/8000sec
•Built in Stereo Microphone
•Stores photos on SD Memory Card (slot located on bottom of camera)
•Stores video on MiniDV Digital Tapes
•USB 2.0 and Firewire IEEE 1394 compliant
•DV, AV, external mic, and USB ports (the included AV cable has RCA and S-Video outputs)
•PictBridge (direct printing from camcorder)
•Includes MotionDV and Quick Movie Magic software

What’s in the box?

•PV-GS300 Camcorder
•RCA/S-Video cable
•AC cable
•Battery and charger
•Remote control
•Hand and shoulder strap
•USB 2.0 cable
•Software

What you will need to purchase.

•MiniDV Digital Video Tapes. Most stores sell these tapes between $7-10.00/tape! Check out eBay for good deals on tapes...you can probably find them for around $3.00/tape.
•Carrying case (Circuit City and Best Buy have a good selection, but expect to spend about $20.00.)
•Firewire (DV) cable. You don’t necessarily need this, but the quality is supposedly better when transferring tapes to DVD. I haven’t noticed any difference between the two and I prefer to use the included RCA cables with my DVD Recorder.)

Stores and Prices

www.jr.com They had it for just under $500.00 (including shipping). Definitely check out this site. They offer great customer service, competitive prices, and fast/cheap shipping. They are located in New York and are a very reliable, trustworthy store.

•Circuit City…around $500.
•Best Buy…around $500.

Panasonic makes the best. Plain and simple. If I were you, before you make an expensive purchase, do some research...look at customer reviews at www.bestbuy.com, www.circuitcity.com, or at any other review website. Most of those people that answer reviews do it for your benefit...they let you know if it is worth spending $1000+ for a certain product.

I have owned a JVC (miniDV), Sony (miniDV and hard drive), and Panasonic (miniDV and hard drive) camcorders and I have to say that the Panasonic are the best. They have the best quality...best design...are the easiest to use...and are more durable than JVC and Sony. I use them for my business, which is why I have used and tested so many different kinds.

***PLEASE...go to the stores and try them out...don't make a purchase online without actually holding one and testing out its functions.

***And also be careful...if you do a google search to try and find a store that sells the camcorder that you are looking for, for the cheapest price...do some research and check out that store before you make your purchase. There are many great deals out there, but at what cost? A lot of places will advertise a cheap price but then will try to get you to buy more equipment for your camcorder that should already be in the box! Watch out for scams! I can't stress that enough.

GOOD LUCK!

Camcorder buying help needed?
Q. I want to buy a camcorder under $1000.
I am hobby film maker, and main purpose is to use it for making short films & travel videos.
I would like to have suggestions about decent camcorders for the purpose I mentioned.
I like canon HV40 & Sony XR-160. Still not sure Whig one to buy. But I prefer having more manual controls. problem about XR-160 is that it has touch screen to change things manually.

So, I would like to have suggestions about other camcorders.

A. i do charity work and that involves recording interviews
for years i have used a canon mv700i minidv unit
then the charity got some money and i had a look
around for a camcorder
from my experiences with this canon this what i decided
i wanted and didnt want

1) poor operation in low light is a significant problem the developments
in CCD's so now you can have 3 help a lot so i want one with 3ccd's
my mv700i produces horrible artefacts in low light
2) my canon and it seems yours too has a headphone socket which i want
to use to monitor sound. Firstly with auto gain levels this interferes with what
you are listening to, and the socket is doubled up with av IN. and defaults
to av IN and not headphones. if you plug in headphones then it breaks your
eardrums with buzzing. you have to switch the socket over in a menu.
3) the headphone socket defaults back every time the camcorder auto-offs(5min delay)
of course if you dont monitor whats being recorded then you dont need this feature
4) there is no way to view sound recording levels, but i think your HV40
does now have bar display, anyway you need it! so check you got it
5) the focusing system is annoying focus on someone in a chair with a flat wall behind
and the auto-focus goes all over the place its terrible
check what auto focus improvements have been made
6) general manual focusing these days its standard to have a quick zoom feature
on manual focus that allows you to see more detail as you focus thats nice so get it.
not sure if hv40 has that check it has
7) is it pal or ntsc this may matter to you.

finally i decided tapes were still best and the hv40 has those
the charity did in fact buy a canon xh-a1s to get xlr sound connectors
larger fatter lens(more light) 3ccd's and we got a good deal

but i still liked a sony camcorder which struggled to get released
there was also a similar unit which sells for less
HXR-MC50E
CX360VE

hope that helps

How do I download a video from my digital still camera to my Mac and send it in a email?

Q. My camera is a canon Powershot A530. I have the USB cable to connect to my mac computer OS X, however my camera doesn't have firewire capability and from everybodys answers I understand that I need a firewire. I read about the adaptor but does the adaptor works if the camera doesn't have firewire capability ?

A. As far as I know. Not a lot of the cameras in the Market has got firewire.

Perhaps you don't even need one. As suggested, only DV Camcorders has firewire and this is the case because the file for the still video is very huge and firewire is more reliable in transferring such huge file with no errors.

For your case any video file that is 3GB and below you can transfer it using your USB cable.

Just Open your iPhoto, and then it would recognize your camera to do the importing of photos. Video would be imported in as well.

For simple editing purpose, iMovie could be used after the content of the camera is imported into the iPhoto.

How to convert videos using my mac?

What is the best video camera each one of these companies have to offer: Sony, Panasonic, JVC, Canon, Aipteck?

Q. I am particularly interested in picture quality (nothing else). Especially the pixel count and perhaps the speed at which it records which will affect the quality when it is put into slow motion.

A. Well, you can rule out Aiptek... they only make low-quality toy camcorders.

Pixel count isn't that important for video in camcorders, because there are only a few options, and they're tied to the standards. Standard definition camcorders record at 720x480 (NTSC) or 720x576 (PAL), regardless of the size of the sensor in pixels (many consumer camcorders have many pixels, to improve color and give you a better digital still camera function). HD camcorders recorder at either 1280x720, 1440x1080, or 1920x1080 (the latter only on tapeless camcorders).

Very few camcorders have any sort of slow motion mode. You get slow motion when you shoot at one rate (in frames per second) and replay that slower.. but if you replay much below 24 fps, the video will look jerky. So faster fps = better slo-mo. And you will find, in the few cameras that do slo-mo at a consumer price, the pixel count does start to drop.

Some pro models offer full video at 60fps, which lest you do 1/2 rate slo-mo at full video quality, as long as your flash cards hold out. But unless you're thinking of spending $5000 or more, this is not for you.

But don't fret... 60fps is starting to enter the consumer world. One such option is the Sanyo Xacti 1010. This is an HD camcorder that records in MPEG-4 on flash. It's not the absolute best quality around, but it's decent. And it can record at 720p (1280x720) at a full 60fps. This is under $700 online.

To go beyond that on a consumer budget, there are a few weird choices. Sony offers a very short burst high-speed mode on some of their camcorders. They call this "Smooth Slow" recording mode, and it can go to 120fps-200fps, depending on the camera model. This is supported in both pro/prosumer (HVR-V1, HVR-Z7, others) and consumer (HDR-CX7, HDR-HC3, others) models. This is always at a much lower resolution, good for YouTube but little else. And you're limited to bursts of about 3 seconds real-time.

Another interesting option isn't a camcorder at all, but Casio's new digital still camera, the Exlim Pro EX-F1 (about $1000) http://www.exilim.com/intl/ex_f1/. Most digital still cameras these days have a video mode, but it's usually at best standard-def at 30fps, maybe a tad better. But the EX-F1 has several high-frame rate video modes. It can actually shoot near SD-quality (512 × 384) at 300 fps, 432×192 at 600 fps, or 336×96 at 1200 fps.. it also does standard High-def. And this is continuous, up to memory or file limits, not just short bursts. If you're really serious about high-speed filming on a consumer budget, this is your best bet.

digital camera good enough for movie making?
Q. im looking to get a digital camera 5000 or under to start a hobby and movie making. i was thinking the Canon EOS 5D Mark III would be a nice purchase? would there be something better, tips or pointers?

A. For movie making specifically skip a DSLR altogether. Look into the Sony NEX FS100UK with a Super 35mm sensor or a similar camera in that price range. You will need to add a lens but you can get an 11x zoom lens from Sony with the camera for an additional $600. You can make a movie with a $109 Canon A1300 but you won't get "Hollywood" quality - for that be prepared to spend even more than $5,000 - closer to $10,000 and more for all the stuff you will need to go with it - software, lighting, a computer with huge hard drives, etc.

The person who said Canon 5D Mk III is better for video might not know that the Nikon D800 has superior autofocus to the Mk III. Nikon has finally caught up. You will need to buy extra accessories to do video so by the time you add it all in you might have spent just as much as buying a video camera. You are also limited to 4 GB file sizes in a DSLR due to trade tariffs (I think) so if you want to make a video longer than 30 minutes that is not interrupted you need to go with a camcorder anyway.

Can you help me find best camcorder for my mom, around 300 bucks? See details please.?

Q. I am trying to find the perfect camcorder for my 60 something yr old mom. She has been using an old video recorder from the 90's (a compact VHS with 20x zoom and image stabilizer...she was GREAT with it, but it has become pretty much obsolete). It can't be more than say 320 dollars (less would be nice...I saved up and have tax refund money). It would have to have stabilization for shaky hands. It would have to work on my laptop, which has windows vista. At least 35x optical zoom. Must work with SD card (I don't know what that is, but ironically, my mom DOES and has told me what she needs). It can have DVD or not. It must have light (as in flashbulb...I don't know the current technological word) so she can take pictures and video of a black cat in a dark room (LOL...that's her baby kitty). It would be nice to have ability to use flash drive (removable USB drive thingee you put on a keychain and carry around). It would seem to me that all camcorders would be able to also take still pictures (???) but if not, that's another thing she would definitely want.

I am sorry I am just now myself learning some of the vocabulary...it all is very confusing, to say the least!!! The technobabble I've run into in my searches so far has my head spinning!

Those are about the main points I can THINK of. I appreciate any advice!

A. If it has to have SD card, go with Panasonic. Sony camcorders uses Memory Stick.

Panasonic has a wide range of camcorders that will fit your need and budget. Easiest thing to do is go to your local electronic store and talk to a sales associate.

Features to look for:
Recording media. Either tape, DVD or hard drive. DVD might be easiest for your mom. Just record and play in any DVD player.
Most has decent zoom, just find one that you want.
Almost all has imagine stabilization.
Hooking up to your laptop. If it is a DVD then it is ready to play right off the disc. If you're looking for video editing, go with mini DV Tapes and find a camcorder that has firewire hook up, your laptop must have firewire too. I don't think DVD camcorders have firewire, you'd be lucky finding one.
SD is Secure Digital memory card for capturing digital images. Most camcorders also have built in digital cameras. If it does, it also comes with a USB port (this is not firewire). The USB hooks up to your USB port to transfer the images, not video.
Some, not all camcorders have built in light. Find one that has.

Make a list before heading off to the store so you'll know what to look for. It is easy to over look something you want once you start shopping. Camcorders have become cheaper now, so for $320 you'll have no problems finding something you like. Good luck!

do they sell camcorders or cameras that record video on a keychain? if so where? NOT ONLINE, in store only!?
Q.

A. Yes. WallMart, Kmart, Sears or target.

What kinda of video camera should I buy?

Q. I am somewhat on a budget, but I will pay for quality. I am mainly wanting it to record live music in bars, so I want something that can handle that much noise clearly.

This part is not necessary but I'm going on a canoe trip soon, so if there is one I can take down the river too, that would be awesome. But I don't want to sacrifice video/sound quality just for that.

A. Live music = loud = camera or camcorder needs some sort of audio gain control. I would also expect that these would be night scenes - or poor indoor lighting. Hopefully, there is stage lighting for the performers.

Canoe trip = waterproof. Generally, there are housings available for waterproofing, so I think the long-pole is the audio control.

Step 1: Set a budget.

At the low end, there's the GoPro Hero or something from the Canon HF R line. With the GoPro's using an external digital audio recorder like a Zoom H1 and synching audio when editing the video. With the proper camcorder like the Canon HF R series, then use the "attenuator" mic setting for loud audio and a waterproof "bag". The camera is not expected to deep in the water, so an expensive deep-water housing is not needed. I think the Ewa Marine VLA would fit most of the Canon HF series camcorders. Sony has its line of underwater housings for Sony camcorders so any of the HDR-series cams can work for both your needs... Another angle is the Zoom Q3HD and not use it while canoeing (but after landing).

Can someone help me find a camcorder that allows for good sound quality?
Q. Hi!

I'm looking for a camcorder cheaper than £350 that has good sound quality, as I want to record live classical music. I know this means I need an external mic, so if someone knows of a camcorder which is good and allows for external mic, plus a mic worth spending money on, please let me know :)

thanks!

A. What is needed is manual audio gain control and good location of the mic(s).

It also depends on what sort of classical music. Solo, duet, trio, quartet, chamber music, etc. will have requirements different than a full orchestra.

There are a few entry level Canon camcorders (FS series, maybe one in the MV series) that have a 1/8" (3.5mm) stereo mic jack. But they do not have manual audio gain control.

The reason you need manual audio gain control is that even acoustic - classical - music can get loud enough to overdrive the automatic audio gain circuit - the result will be muddy audio and "static" (audio peaking at the loud passages).

Just because a camcorder has a mic jack, that does not mean it also has manual audio control.

It is possible to use the camcorder's internal built-in mics successfully - but the location of the camcorder (hence the location of the mics) is important because of the stereo separation and balance. With external mics, they can be located away from the camcorder... But even built-in mics need manual audio control. I guess the point I am trying to make is external mics are not a "hard and fast rule".

There are some Sony camcorders in your budget range that have a very rudimentary "MicRefLevel" menu toggle for "Normal" or "Low" gain. I am not aware of any SOny camcorders in your budget range that have an audio-in jack. There are some Canon camcorders in your price range that have a similar "Mic Attenuation" toggle.

The least expensive camcorder - of which I am am aware - with a mic jack and more granular manual audio control is the Canon HV40.

Another option is to use whatever camcorder you want - but record the audio with an external audio "field recorder" like those from Zoom, Edirol, Tascam, M-Audio and many others. These generally have built-in mics - and can connect external mics if required. All have manual audio control. When you import the video for editing, import the audio from the field recorder, sync the audio, then mute the audio that came in with the video...

What's a (relatively) cheap shotgun mic that works with a basic A/V input on a camcorder?

Q. I have a Panasonic HDC-SD9 camera. No XLR input. I don't have the money to get a converter and and XLR-capable shotgun mic. I have around $140 I'm able to spend on this. The Azden SGM-X mic looks like what I need, but I'm unclear on whether it would work with my camera, since it's not a "mini-DV" camera.

A. Since there are no consumer camcorders under about $1,800 with an XLR mic connector, this is no surprise - most consumer camcorders have no mic jack at all - and when they do, it is a 1/8" stereo mic jack.

The Panasonic HDC-SD9 does not have a 1/8" mic jack. AV is OUT only, not in. There is no way to connect an external microphone with any kind of jack to this camcorder.

Camcorders do not need to be "miniDV" to have a mic jack. MiniDV is just a storage media type - like hard disc drive or flash memory. The Canon FS10, FS11, FS100 and HF10, HF11 and HF100 are flash memory based camcorders that have a 1/8" (3.5mm) mic jack.

Can anyone suggest a camera for £400 or less with these specs?
Q. I need a camera with these features,

manual & auto focus
a mic input with either 3.5mm jack or xlr input
full HD capabilities, mainly with 25FPS but 50 is ok
manual & auto iris control

if anyone can find or suggest a camera with these features id be very grateful, thanks

A. Yes, but closer to £450. The Nikon D5100 has those features.

But you should know more about using a still camera to shoot video

http://www.luminous-landscape.com/reviews/camcorders/cam-cam.shtml

The additional cost of video accessories can exceed the cost of the cameras itself.

How to connect Panasonic 3CCD camcorder to Apple power book to download the recorded movies?

Q. I've connected the camcorder to the Mac using the USB port, but I am unable to access the camera. I tried using iMovie to no success. When I was using a PC I was able to access the camera and transfer the movies. I was hoping to be able to do the same with the Apple. The main reason I purchased the Mac was for the ease of editing and creating DVDs.

Any help would be much appreciated.

A. you must install a mac driver for your camera if you opt to use the usb port. if you cannot find a driver, you will need to use the firewire port.

How is the quality of your videos transferred from a camcorder to your Mac/PC?
Q. Yesterday I have started transferring my videos from my digital camcorder to my Mac using Pinnacle Video Capture. The quality is not that good (not as good as when I watch them on my TV) and the sound doesn't follow the image. Is it normal? Could I have a problem with my cables?

A. What's happening ? You're speeking English today ????
Sorry, I can not answer your question but I give you a big big kiss...
See you later (in French this time please.... lol)

Should i buy a 3ds just to play Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance?

Q. So i was planning to buy a xbox360. But then i found out about Kingdom Hearts DDD. So should I buy a 3ds to play Kingdom Hearts? I LOVE Kingdom Hearts. But a Xbox360 is so cool. I mean there are some pretty neat features on the 3ds. Like Music and 3d photos and Videos. There is even a 3d pokedex( I'm also i big fan of Pokemon.) So should i buy a 3ds or A xbox360?

A. You should get the 3DS

Because you can play music (even with the system close)

You can LOWER the VOLUME of 3D

You can also turn the 3D OFF Completely

And 3D is good for working out your eye muscles & brain to keep them in shape as shown in this link:

The Nintendo 3DS has downloadable 3D Music videos from today's American music artist which I have already downloaded the 3 free 3D Music Videos to watch anywhere and the 3DS has 3D "Blue Man Group" video and College Humor (in 3D) with the FREE "Nintendo Video" App that you can download (but its 4 3D Videos at a time and they replace them once in a while) and you can download cheap downloadable 3D Apps & 3D games costing from 99 cents to $5.99 and the Nintendo 3DS also has FREE downloadable 3D Apps & 3D Games, which I have already downloaded 3 Free 3D Apps and I have downloaded 2 Free 3D Games and the 3DS has a 3D Camera and I have already used the 3DS 3D Camera to take 3D photos and I have uploaded some of my 3D footage online using the Nintendo 3DS's Web Browser to upload my 3D footage online and I have used my 3DS Web Browser to also download other peoples 3D footage from the Internet on my 3DS Web Browser and I have view all sorts of 3D content on 3D Websites online on my 3DS's Web Browser and I have use my 3DS 3D Camera to play 3D Augmented Reality games as well and it's all in 3D without the Glasses using the 3DS 3D Camera and It has beautiful 3D HD graphics that equal to that of a 3D HD version of Wii Graphics and I have Streamed 3D Videos Online on my 3DS in the eShop and I have also Watch 3D Trailers for upcoming 3D movies coming to Theaters in 3D and I have done all of this in 3D Without the Glasses

The 3DS with a Wi-Fi Update can RECORD 3D Videos in 60 fps (unlike other camcorders, that only Record in 2D Only and in up to 30 fps only)

So you can pay $169 for a Nintendo 3DS and buy the greatest Games ever & all in 3D Without the Glasses like Cave Story 3D & Kid Icarus & Super Mario 3D Land & Mario Kart 7 using the MOTION SENSORS to play the game like if you were turning a real steering wheel to turn the Kart left & right and also play such other 8 GB 3D Games like TheatRhytem Final Fantasy & Kingdom Hearts 3D & Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D & Crush 3D and Shinobi & Animal Crossing & Rodea the Sky Soldier & Michael Jackson: the Experience 3D & Ridge Racer 3D & Super Street Fighter 4 3D & Monster Hunter 4 & Golden Sun 4 & Star Fox 3D & Zelda 3D & Sonic Generations 3D & Tetris 3D & Resident Evil: Revelations & Tales of the Abyss 3D & Tekken 3D which also has the 3D Movie Tekken the Movie 3D in it to watch and also play other 8 GB 3D HD games as Spider Man 3D and 100% of the 3DS games are in HD 3D Without the Glasses

And the 3DS pixel density is MUCH sharper than an average HD TV

They're making Angry Birds 3D as a downloadable game

And the 3DS has DLC (Downloadable Content) like Xbox Live for a bunch of 3DS games to add content to the game later on for Free

1 of the Free 3D Apps I have downloaded was Netflix

And Netflix is getting 3D Movies in the next few months, so for $169 you can watch 3D movies on the free Netflix App on the 3DS in 3D Without the Glasses

And 100% of the people who have said that they get headaches from 3D, have said that after up to 1 week of using the 3DS they NO LONGER get headaches anymore and that they now play with the 3D all the way up 100% all the time, non-stop

But I have never had any problem with the 3D at all, but each person has a different experience with the 3D ON during the first week

You can now pay to download 3D Videos on the 3DS

The 3DS is getting Hulu Plus before the end of this year (2011) as a Free downloadable App and Hulu already has 3D Content

and you can check this Link below for more 3DS Games:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Nintendo_3DS_games

P.S. You will want to check these sites out for the Web Browser's 3D ability:

http://www.3ds-screenshot.com/

http://gamecrunch.co/3dscreens/

http://3dporch.com/

http://3dspaint.com/

http://www.klutz.com/static/nintendo/n3ds_mm9.html

http://www.instructables.com/3ds/

And there are such great cheap downloadable games from the eShop as:

Sakura Samurai: Art of the Sword

Dillon's Rolling Western

Pushmo

Pyramids

And here are the 2D Resolutions:

Wii = 640

3DS = 800

And here are the Motion Sensors:

Wii = 1 Axis

3DS = 3 Axis

And here are the Frame Rates (Frames Per Second):

X Box 360 = 30 fps

3DS = 60 fps

And the 3DS Wireless is 2.4 GHz.

And here are the Audio's:

X Box 360 = 5.1 Surround Sound

3DS = 7.1 Surround Sound

And the 3DS has way more better graphics than the Wii as shown in this Link Here:

I read that Mini-DV camcorders produces the best video quality, which latest camcorder will you recommend?

Q. Another question, will Sony HDR-SR11 camcorder (planning to get one) gives me the video quality that the Mini-DV can give?

A. MiniDV is just the media format. It doesn't necessarily give the best quality.

Better to say that the best quality in semi-pro camcorders and down use MiniDV.

However, the Sony HDR-SR11 is phenomenal. It can out perform many HDV camcorders (those use MiniDV just in HD format...highest quality you'll get for MiniDV).

You might want to consider Sony HDR-SR12, since that's the same camcorder, but the hard drive is larger...60 GB is big, but better to be safe =P

But yes, that Sony HDR-SR11 is one of the few camcorders that will replace MiniDV.

Is there really a huge difference in video quality between analog and digital camcorders?
Q. How much better is the video quality of a new digital camcorder compared to the older analog or Hi8 tape camcorders such as the Sony HandyCam. I am particularly curious about the zoom. Many of the newer camcorders have 60X or lower zoom levels, my Sony HandyCam has a 64X zoom and still has reasonably good quality at that level.

A. The intended use of the video will also determine your apparent quality differences. If you have a small CRT television that you play back on and do no further editing, then there may not be much apparent advantage to a new digital camcorder, MiniDv or HD (H.264). If you edit and show your videos to a wider audience, or have a 720i or better TV, especially one of the larger ones, then yes, you will see a huge improvement in quality, even with the inferior HD format (Which is a marketing gimmick that is a step back from MiniDv).

One area in which analog MAY be superior, is in poorly lighted scenes. With advanced editing software such as Avid, more detail can be obtained from apparent darkness on analog than on digital. But if you have a $20,000 editing station, your not likely using a HandyCam!

What camera should I use for solid HD video?

Q. Right now, I have a Sony a350 dSLR and a Sony SR-7 1080p camcorder.

I really don't take photos that often, but when I do they have to be good. Same goes for video, and right now, the little Sony is not doing the job.

I'm looking to get a video camera that does outstanding video, but doesn't leave me broke. I'm considering selling both of the cams I currently have and just using 1 that does both.

I'd rather not use AVCHD either... too hard to edit.

A. For "solid HD video" use of a video capture device that does not use a high compression to process/store and lots of light during capture are your best bets.

The Sony HDR-SR7 was one of the early AVCHD cams (2007, I think). Between the high compression AVCHD and smallish (37mm) lens filter diameter, I'm not too surprised that you are not happy with the results. In my opinion, a larger lens diameter and 3CCD or 3CMOS imaging chip will provide a vast improvement when coupled with lots of light and less compression.

Here's the problem: Low compression, high definition video, in a 3-chip camera with a large lens diameter starts at the prosumer Sony HDR-FX1000. HDV format onto miniDV tape or an external flash memory recording device (over firewire). $4,000.

Since we don't know what computer or editing application you are using, it is challenging to understand how we can get you to an easier editing place. AVCHD does not have to be difficult to edit if the video capture is done with tools designed to do the job.

If we bail from the HDR-FX1000 and stay in consumer grade, I do like the Canon HF S series. I don't know if that is still too much $. But assuming we can get an AVCHD-capable editor, it should be easier to edit + a larger lens diameter (58mm) than the SR7, decent sized single imaging chip and lower compression than the older AVCHD system...

Camcorders are designed to capture good video and audio. Their ability to take stills is a convenience feature. Cameras and dSLRs are designed to take stills. They can capture great video and audio - but there are challenges when dealing with this "convenience feature". I have not yet seen the single device that can do both well.

What camera would be best for shooting an independent film on a budget?
Q. I have a budget of about $1000 for a camera, light, and possible editing program. I've been looking around for the best deal and I've found a few but I would like to know the best deal on an HD 1080p camcorder and/or camera that shoots video for shooting an independent film...

A. do what HANNA said to do
make a list side by side
so you can match and see which has which and then you can decide that way

The New Droid X?! anyone have it yet?
Q. Ok, Today is my birthday and my phone upgrade is up so i decided im gonna go get a phone, and since the droid X is the newest on verizon i figure i would get it, but a few questions

-If i go to the store will i get it or will i have to wait for them to ship it?
-What apps do you use?
-How long does YOUR battery last
-What apps SHOULD i get?
-What Accessories do i need
----------------------------------------------
Price is no object

A. You should be able to get it at the store for 199 (with a two year contract) or 149 online.

I use the Skype application and the bar-code reader. I also downloaded the who-wants-to-be-a-millionaire game. But be careful Skype. You will lose minutes. I called my mother-in-law in Japan for 18 minutes and it was counted as a call to Atlanta. So Skype is only free in off-peek hours (after 9PM and on the weekends).

I have my phone set to wireless network access, satellite location, email updates, and all the bells-and-whistles. I've been playing with it a lot. My battery goes into the red-zone after about four hours. My old cell phone would hold a charge for about one week. But with a cool new device, you’re always interested in actually using it. And I’ve gotten really good (within a few days) at surfing the web. All those multimedia features drain the battery. I like the voice recognition feature. I can simply ask it a question and get an answer. Also, the keyboard can be a pain. But if you just talk, it’s usually pretty accurate and it’s easy to edit a mistake.

Another cool feature is the camcorder. The video is horrible in dimly lit conditions, but very good in daylight. And it’s really easy to transfer to your computer. There’s an HDMI cord that allows you to hook up the droid to your TV and play video. That’s cool too. It’s almost like having a pocket DVD player.

The only game I like is called "paper toss," where you try to throw a wrinkled up piece of paper into a a basket.

The most annoying feature is the screen lock and finger “swipe” requirement. When you’ve got the phone in your pocket and you get an incoming call, you have to play some fancy finger games to get it unlocked. It’s pretty much impossible when I’m driving or walking my German shepherd. I have to use both hands to get the phone unlocked and accept the incoming call. On my old flip phone, I simply opened the phone and the call was live. With the droid, I fill like I’m dealing with a mini-computer that someone decided to add a phone function too.

As for accessories, I got the case and the car mount. But it’s hard (slow) to pry the case off, so now I’m not really using the mount much. The HDMI cable is a must. You can forget the phone charging cradle. The only benefit to that is that it makes your droid look like an alarm clock. Otherwise, just go with the standard charging cable. Last, I think the cigarette lighter cable is a good idea, but you could save money by just buying a power converter at an auto parts store – or driving a newer car with the USB plug already there.

EDIT: I visited the Verizon store in Wenatchee and asked about the swipe requirement. There's an app called auto answer that enables your phone to automatically answer in speak mode and do so only for numbers you have starred in the address book. So when I go for a walk with the dog, I set it to auto answer for for wife. And that solved the problem. (The problem was it's hard to swipe with only one hand.)

what is the diffrence between a cheap camcorder and a professional one?

Q. I want to know what makes professional camcorders so much better. They are all 1080p, what else is there to justify a price diffrence?

A. Hi Matthew:

There is a "laundry list" of features that separate a typical under-$1000 consumer model with pro-level camcorders that start out costing 2-3 times that, and then go way-past the $50,000 price tag.

(Three separate video sensors instead of just one, larger sensor size, faster video bit-rate storage ―with less compression― for better quality image, 2- & 4-channel XLR audio connections & controls, rugged construction for heavy-duty daily use, larger diameter lenses & better optics, on-board technical adjustments & monitor features that rival a TV engineering rack, larger battery packs that can run all day, etc.)

But since your Question mentions the common-factor of "1080" (not all HD cameras are 1080p, some are 1080i or 720p) I'll separate a few more details that are just video-related, since that "sameness" has you wondering.

Broadcast quality cameras start out with 3 image sensors (CCD or CMOS), one for each "primary" color (Red, Green, Blue). And special beam-splitters or prisms with precision alignment feed the lens image to these sensors. Since video is processed and digitized using separate color & brightness info, the 3 separate signals allow the best quality and adjustment control. (Right there you are tripling most of your camera cost.)

Larger sensors catch more light, and have less "video noise" in darker settings. Consumer sensors are typically less than =half= the size of a dime! Each of the 3 image chips in a pro-camera are about the size of a U.S.quarter, and can have over 10-times the surface area of a small camcorder's 4mm x 3mm chip. (And using 3 pro-size chips triples that light-gathering area to 30x bigger!)

Larger sensors can make use of larger diameter lens elements, which allow more light to the chips. Bigger optics using high-grade optical-quality glass elements are more expensive, and just the large zoom lens on a TV studio camera or sports field camera can cost over $50,000 without the camera body. And changeable lens mounts & all the needed mechanical/electrical connections cost more.

And consumer camcorders use higher levels of video compression than pro-camcorders, to save on storage cost & space, and the required electronics for fast video signal processing. (This benchmark is called bit-rate, and is measured in Mbit/s or Mbps [Megabits per second, not MegaBytes].) SD memory cards' read/write speed tend to be rated in MegaBytes/sec; e.g., Class 10 = 10-MB/s minimum, which would equal 80-Mbits/s, since there are 8-bits per Byte.

Higher compression just "samples" & keeps a fraction of the actual video frames & fine detail. So, for every second of video captured, your "HiDef" consumer camcorder is only storing about 3 full-detail frames (called I-frames), and is using math algorithms to only keep "predictive" information (P-frames & B-frames) about the 2-dozen or so discarded frames.

Pro cameras can utilize either un-compressed or low-compression video with better fidelity (less interpolated or "guessed at" video data).

So, basically, not all "1080" HD is equal.

hope this helps,
--Dennis C.

What are some good camcorders that emulate the look of 35mm film?

Q. What are some great camcorders under $1,000 $5,000 and $10,000
What are the best cameras in each of these price ranges

A. Sony HDR-CX190 High Definition Handycam 5.3 MP Camcorder with 25x Optical Zoom (2012 Model) has been a great HD camcorder so far. It is very small and lightweight, to say the least. I think the 70 series battery I bought for this unit weighs almost as much as the camera. The controls are good with the little screen joystick and menus. The color is very good on the screen, and the video is sharp. I like the 30x for videoing my stepsons' wrestling matches.

What's a good camcorder for recording at a concert?
Q. I'd like HD quality (at least 720 pixels), but as long as the video quality is good.
My main focus is the audio quality. There will be A LOT of screaming.

Never been to a concert before but I wanna be prepared.

What camera do you use when you want to record at a concert? :)
They don't sell DVDs..?

A. Sony HDR-CX260V High Definition Handycam 8.9 MP Camcorder with 30x Optical Zoom and 16 GB Embedded Memory (Black) (2012 Model)

Where can i get a flip ultra hd camcorder for a low price?

Q. I am looking for a FLIP ULTRA HD camcorder for under $100. It does not matter if its a store or website. If a website, there needs to be a return policy. Thanks :).

A. Check out Amazon.com I have seen some on there for 30-50 dollars cheaper.

What features should a camcorder have if you want to upload high quality videos to youtube?
Q. I'm looking to buy a camcorder on tmart.com but I don't know what feature it should have to make my videos hd and nice looking. Also I want it to be under $100.

A. Chances are there is no such thing as an HD camera under $100. I'm amusing that the camera will be used for vlogging. The Canon Powershot S100 is very popular, and is very impressive. It might not be in your price range but I hope I helped.

Why film an event with a old movie camera instead of todays standard tape pro cameras ? 1990-2012 cameras?

Q. When i was watching FIFA world cup italia 1990. I was watching it live on tv... i remember the quality of the matches was 100% brilliant live.. like todays quality live match images on tv. I remember that. But in 1994 fifa world up usa.. the quality was still good but it looked more snowy and more ghosty then previewsly in 1990. Im in australia so not sure why the quality was less quality in 1994 when 1990 was very brilliant quality on at the time.

Okies QUESTIONS: When i was watching fifa world up on tv in 1990. notice there was a guy in his business clothes filming a match close to the field which looked like it was a movie camera a round shape camera looked like a old filming camera shape in his shoulder...

My question is... why on earth would someone at the field film a match on film rather then virtually a normal profetional camera that uses TAPE rather then roll films like the old days ?

What was it for... was he just doing a documentry meant mainly for a documentry about fifa world up and had to be film in roll film camera ? I don't understand why.. since old film cameras would make a playback image look like a movie or not so clear viewing as in tapes.

I remember watching north korea this year the dearth of the piggy who the guys where filming the ceremony like old roll film cameras.. you can exactly see the type of cameras.. again thats 2012... why would they use these types of cameras when there is profetional camcorder cameras that does more clear and brilliant picture then old days films ?

I wonder if its been used yet other countrys for live events.... not sure why they use something that wont make the image super clean... roll film filming means the image your just recorded aventually will have scratches all over the documentry making it out as if the stuff you just film was a 1940s film era.

Love to know this.. could you be kind to explain it all to me? im very interested about this. thanks very much.

A. Hi again, Mofina:

Part of your Question asks about equipment used 22 years ago, and a lot of technological advancements in portable camcorders have been made since then, although film cameras haven't changed very much in that time period.

But just like with American football matches and the NFL Films documentary team, many camera crews that don't need to broadcast "live" prefer to work with film rather than videotape for many reasons. And when it comes to international event coverage, using film eliminates the worry about the various television broadcast formats that exist (and are quite different!) from country to country. (With modern camcorders, this is why the "24p" cinema-emulation frame-rate setting is becoming more popular rather than having to choose between North American/Japan 30/60fps and European 25/50fps settings.)

Contrary to what you might think, brand new film footage can have a better image quality (both in resolution and contrast rendering) than your average news & sports camcorder. And unlike in the 1940s, the original footage is usually scanned (electronically) or an intermediate negative (called a CRI or "interneg") is made so the original remains pristine & unscratched. Plus, film stock chemistry has greatly improved since the World War II era. You'd be surprised at the number of Hollywood-quality films that have been made using modern 16mm color film stock and camera/lens combinations.

And finally, when it comes to fast-action sports like soccer/football, it's simpler and less-costly to use fast-shutter speeds (to eliminate blurring in single frames) or higher frame rates (for extreme slow-motion capture) with a mechanical film camera than with an electronic camcorder.

It all boils down to selecting the right tool for the job, and which tools or media that work best for the project.

And as I mentioned in my earlier Answer to your Y!A Question about microphones used at FIFA matches, sometimes older technology is more reliable than the newest stuff.

hope this helps,

Q. For the second time this week I just witnessed a gray fox eating a squirrel and it was the coolest thing ever because I was able to watch from my kitchen. For the longest time I have been trying to get some good video of them for my youtube channel (channels partnered so its like a fun job) and I think now would be the best time due to the fact I have seen 4 red foxes and 2 or more gray foxes along with one lone coyote in just two weeks alone and thats a all time high. Anyway just a month or two ago I had probably about 30 squirrels eating corn from the food pile I put out and no rabbits. I have only seen like 20 rabbits in all of 2012. So wouldnt a squirrel call be better or do squirrels not make squeels?
Dan I know you probably know 100 times more then me but in only a 100 acre area wouldnt only one call be better then a whole wounded bird/rodent party? Sounds pretty suspicous to animals I bet.

A. Andrew:

All predators know the sound of an injured rabbit. All predators know the sound of an injured squirrel. In fact, the sound of just about ANY injured critter in the wild gets the attention of fox and coyotes, as well as any other critter that prefers a diet of meat. However, keep in mind that squirrels often retreat to the trees where the four-legged varmints can't get to them. Only the hawks and owls. All though the raptors make great video subjects, most predator hunters do not want them coming to the call. "IF" you invest in a quality calling system such as Fox Pro or one of a half a dozen other good brands of electronic callers, you can also equip yourself with a good variety of prerecorded calls on disc, tape, or memory card besides the sounds of injured rabbit and squirrel. I have three different electronics which offer me a selection that includes distress calls of fawn deer, cub bears, fox & coyote pups, bobcat/lynx kittens, woodpecker, wood rat, crows/ravens, waterfowl, two kinds of rabbits, etc. Even with all of that and more to choose from and three QUALITY electronics systems to choose from and play those sounds as well, I STILL carry my reed call because over the 40+ years I have hunted the predators, I have learned how to make it work, and work well. It talks a language that EVERY predator I would ever hunt FULLY understands. "RABBIT!" Just remember that with the animals that close to you, you do NOT want to over-blow or over-work the call. Also remember a VERY important point that a LOT of beginning callers don't often think about. Rabbits have a LOT smaller lungs than you do. Keep your calls down to shorter bursts and runs. Don't make L-O-N-G and drawn out calls or series of calls. If the varmints are as close to your neighborhood as you say, you should have them in your lap within minutes. If you haven't seen them within 15 minutes up to a half hour, max, either you've done something wrong and they've seen you or heard something about your call they didn't like, OR they just aren't there. This is one of those times when practice really does make perfect. But do NOT practice outside with the fox and coyotes. They learn quicker than we do and the smarter they get from our mistakes, the harder they will be to coax in to your call, regardless of WHAT kind of call you use. Good luck. (IMPORTANT TIP: Keep the battery for your camcorder FULLY charged. Remember they do not work as well or as long in COLD weather. It's even a good idea sometimes to carry the battery in your warm pocket until you are ready to use it. It's ALWAYS good to carry an extra fully charged spare or two.)

ANDREW: You don't EVER play them all as in your so-called "rodent party". You have a remote option to choose ONLY the call or two that best fits the occasion. In your case, I'd place my remote speaker about 40 or 50 yards away from where I set up the camera and then use the remote selector and volume control to pied-piper one in. At most, I have NEVER used more than three calls at any one session. I might start with the jackrabbit fairly loud and then go to a quiter version of the cottontail rabbit and finish up with the final coaxing call of a mouse or wood rat squeaking. It works. It's not rocket science here, just common sense and logic. And when you use the good quality products rather than a cellphone, trust me on this, the predators RARELY think it "sounds pretty suspicious". And that's something you CAN bet on.

What is the best video camera for youtube that is under $500?

Q. I want a HD video camera that is good for making youtube videos anny suggestions?

A. you should get a kodak zi8

What video camera should I get?
Q. I'm planning on buying a video camera to make youtube videos. I'll need good zoom, and high definition and a pretty good microphone (I might be filming wildlife). My budget is 150-200 euros, I might pay a little more if it's a good deal. I don't know anything about cameras and I'm hoping someone will give me some idea of what to get, or a link for a good camera.

A. check the following camcorders to find the one you like

What type of computer should I get for editing Cannon Hg20 Vixia Full HD?

Q. Here is my camera http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/products/camcorders/consumer_camcorders/vixia_hg20#Overview

My computer right now (HP pavilion Slimline) cannot handle the HD.

The footage comes out skippy in sony vegas.

I was wondering the computer best for me, like a mac ect..?

A. If you buy Mac, we've heard stories here, about problems with cameras talking with a Mac. I believe it's because 95% of the planet runs on windows these cameras don't relate well to Apple.

Okay, that said, you can buy a card reader for little $$. As I understand it, readers do talk with Mac.

Either way you're going to need software.

What are good ways to steady a video shot?
Q. What are good ways to steady a shot?
I'm referring to just using a personal camcorder (Canon VIXIA HF S21) for making short videos with edits, not something too professional.
Do most people just use tripods? I find it annoying to have to set up most every shot on a tripod, especially if you do a few different takes for each scene.

A. Tripod.

Learn to stand still and stable while holding the camera.

Prop yourself and/or the camera against another stable object like a wall, post, table, etc.

Still, if you seriously want to make good video, you don't moan and cry about how much trouble it is to move a five or ten pound camera and tripod. This takes SECONDS to do.

I would like to buy a Panasonic camcorder (HDD) but it says its digital zoom is 100x/3500x.What does it mean?

Q. Is it 100x or 3500x digital zoom? Its website is http://www.panasonic.co.uk/html/en_GB/Products/SDR-S50/Specification/3297698/index.html?trackInfo=true . Its optical zoom is 78x.

A. Admittedly, I'm making an educated guess. Cameras often advertise its optical zoom, digital zoom, and some insane sounding zoom level. The last is usually when you combine the optical and digital numbers. How they arrived at 3500x, I don't know.

However the real number you should be looking at is the 78x optical. Digital zoom is not a true zoom. And 78x zoom is a quite a lot, probably close to the point of unusable without a tripod. (A fully zoomed hand held shot can be very shaky.)

should i buy a 3ds, ipod touch 4g white, or wait for a ps vita?

Q. i already have a ds lite, psp, ipod shuffle and a smart phone..
p.s. i love gaming

A. You should get the 3DS.

Because you can play music (even with the system close)

You can LOWER the VOLUME of 3D

You can also turn the 3D OFF Completely

And 3D is good for working out your eye muscles & brain to keep them in shape as shown in this link:

http://www.aoa.org/x17309.xml

Pushmo

Pyramids

And here are the 2D Resolutions:

iPod = 340

Wii = 640

3DS = 800

And here are the Motion Sensors:

iPod = 1 Axis

3DS = 3 Axis

And here are the Frame Rates (Frames Per Second):

Everything else = 30 fps

3DS = 60 fps

And the 3DS Wireless is 2.4 GHz.

And here are the Audio's:

iPod = Stereo

3DS = 7.1 Surround

And the 3DS has way more better graphics than the iPad 2 & Wii as shown in this Link Here:

What is the best camcorder for filming football?

Q. What is the best camcorder within 1000 dollars to film football with?

A. im not recommending a specific model but just general tips on what to get. if you want to edit and have slightly better picture quality, get a miniDV cam. if you just wanna record and watch, then go for miniDVD cams. if i were you, id get a miniDV cam for your purposes, cos you have more flexiblity with what you can do, and the extra time needed to burn to DVD is minimal.

when buying, a large optical zoom is great, but lesser optical zooms will work. ignore digital zoom. make sure the camera has a manual shutter control and white balance. manual focus and aperture are great, but not necessarily required, but when possible, look for all four.
you can get a 3ccd cam for under 1000 and they enhance your picture quality. also, look for optical stabilization. it will help, but is not essential. top loading cams are a plus, as you can load a tape in without taking it off the tripod.

when recording, bring a tripod if possible. the tripod can be used when you are moving to help stabilize shots also, (lengthen the legs and fold them together so its like a monopod, then hold it at the center and walk). get shots from different angles (when possible), it will make the video more interesting than just staring at one angle the whole time.

you can go to www.camcorderinfo.com to search for cameras. panasonic's pv-gs series has a lot of the features i mentioned here so you can take a look at them. hope this helps!

What is the best video camera/camcorder under $1000?
Q. One that is crystal clear and sharp. One that when you zoom, it's still clear. I want to upload good videos on youtube that looks good and clear.

Requirements:
Good quality > Good zoom > Clear > Good sound quality > etc.
Oh and it has to be digital.

Thanks!

A. I recommend subscribing to ConsumerReports.org. It has many recommendations, with specific good and bad points, for you to select your choice. We have a Sony HDR HC-7 and love it. Good luck!

What is the meaning of { CMOS } in CAMCORDERS?

Q. Just planning to have a CAMCORDER [Panasonic-HDC-TM 700] or a [CANON VIXIA-HP31]

Hope somebody could tell me what is [ CMOS ] means?

A. ...and this one....

How do I focus on both the forground & background with a Canon Hv40 camcorder?
Q. I'm trying to film something where I'm a metre away from the camera and there's a sign infront of the camera, so half the screen is me (backround) & half the scene is the sign (forground) but I can only get my new HD camcorder to focus on only one of those things, making the other a blur. It worked perfectly well with my old camcorder (Panasonic, not HD).

A. What's happening here is that you've got a narrow depth of field, or a narrow range of distances in which things will be in focus. To widen the depth of field, you want to be able to close up your iris/aperture as much as possible. As your aperture closes, the depth of field gets wider.

You can flip the auto/program switch to "P" to allow you to go into the menus and use "Av" or Aperture Priority mode. Then, set your aperture (the "F" number) as high as you can with the light available. Higher "F" numbers mean smaller apertures - I'm not good at explaining the science behind it, but as you close the aperture, your depth of field gets wider, and a wider range of things will be in focus.

That said, in order to use higher "F" numbers, you'll need more light, as less light is hitting the sensor. Therefore, wide depth of field is most possible on bright sunny days outdoors, or in well-lit indoor situations.

After you do that, you can also refine focus by using the camera's manual focus mode.

So what microphones do i need, and whats a decent camera for this? I have a budget of about 250$ max. But, i want the videos to be decent in quality (both audio and video).

What is a good camera to use for youtube?
Q. I want a high definition camcorder like the one macbarbie07 and ilikeweylie use.... I just don't know what kind to buy, PLEASE HELP! winner gets 10 pts.

A. Canon PowerShot A1300 16.0 MP Digital Camera with 5x Digital Image Stabilized Zoom 28mm Wide-Angle Lens with 720p HD Video Recording Great camera for the price. Purchased the camera in May 2012 to shoot family events, friends ect. You could not ask for a better price vs performance camera. Very simple to use, excellent picture and video quality. I would suggest getting a cushioned camera case that includes the USB thumb drive reader for $10, the case is perfect for travel and storage when not in use. The USB reader is a great option when offloading the memory card.
