How do I transfer video from the hard drive to the SD card on a JVC Everio GZ-MG630RU camcorder?

Q. I have a 2010 JVC Everio GZ-MG630RU camcorder. i recently bought a laptop with Win-7. i found out that Win-7 does not recognize my camcorder . My question is: how do i go about transferring the videos on my camcorders Hard Drive to the cameras mini SD card ?

Thanx

A. Excerpt from Amazon.com. Read your manual and your question makes no sense. Why do you want to copy from HDD to SD when the camera doesn't seem to have an mini SD card?

Everio Features

All 2009 Everios make sharing and watching videos easier than ever. New for this year is the One Touch Export function that allows Everio videos to be imported into iTunes and loaded into an iPod or iPhone. All 2009 Everios also offer One Touch DVD burning and the One Touch Upload function that JVC introduced to users in 2008 as a new and convenient way to upload videos to YouTube.

To use any of the three functions, simply connect Everio to a PC using the supplied USB cable. Then, the user chooses one of three buttons on the Everio: UPLOAD, EXPORT, or DIRECT DVD. Pressing the button will launch the appropriate Windows PC application that comes bundled with Everio, and the user simply follows the simple on-screen prompts. With just a few mouse clicks the process of uploading to YouTube, exporting to iTunes, burning to disc or transferring to an external hard disk drive will be completed. For uploading to YouTube, the user can perform an in-camera edit of any length video to fit the 10-minute YouTube limit.

For disc based archiving, there is an alternative to using a PC. JVC offers the CU-VD50 Direct DVD Burner/Player as an option, which allows burning of Everio videos to a DVD disc without having to use a PC.

The new Everio MediaBrowser software supplied with all Everio models is a Windows application providing an easy-to-search calendar-type graphical interface for indexing and finding video files. Thumbnail images of recorded videos and stills are superimposed on the calendar so its easy to see when any scene was recorded. The Everio MediaBrowser also allows easy playback, simple cut editing, and "Decomotion" to spruce up recorded footage with animated graphics for upload to YouTube. It also supports Export to iTunes, Upload to YouTube, burning to disc or transferring to HDD.

Another new feature found on all Everio camcorders is Digest Playback, which offers an easy and entertaining way to check the content residing on Everios HDD or SD/SDHC card. The function automatically selects highlight scenes from among the recorded content using JVCs proprietary algorithm and plays back what looks like a "coming attractions" trailer for a movie. Sixty minutes of footage is condensed into five minutes of highlight scenes.

Other Everio features have been enhanced for 2009. Laser Touch Operation has been updated to allow control of zooming and recording using either the Laser Touch scroll bar or buttons next to the LCD screen, as well as by the standard zoom lever and REC button. And as before, Laser Touch makes it easy to browse through thumbnail images of recorded scenes and access menu selection. Power-linked operation, long offered by JVC, goes a step further this year. Simply opening the LCD monitor automatically opens the built-in lens cover and powers up the camcorder. Closing the LCD also closes the lens cover and shuts down the power. With Quick Restart, recording can start in about one second after the LCD is re-opened.

In addition to performance and convenience, the 2009 Everio line offers plenty of style and shooting comfort. A new design features elegant curves, a silver-framed LCD and a comfortable angled grip with a new dual use strap. The strap can be used in the usual camcorder fashion, supporting the users hand when shooting, or it can be extended and used as a wrist strap like the type on most digital still cameras.

Looking for good digital camcorder with a mic jack?

Q. I'm looking for a good digital camcorder that has a mic jack, but doesn't cost a cold grand.

A. The Canon HV40 is a HD camcorder with an external mic input. It was $999, but now I see that the price has dropped down to an average of about $650. I can't seem to find any other makes available.

What is a good professional quality video camera/camcorder that shoots good at night?
Q. I sing in a band and we do alot of shows at night (outdoors) and I am looking for a pro grade video camera that shoots really good quality at night and has external mic jacks. I also need a camera on a budget. I am looking to spend under $2,000.00.

A. $2,000 won't get you to "pro-grade" - well, not new, anyway... My definition of "pro-grade":
* Lens filter diameter = 72mm or larger.
* Imaging chip is 3CCD or 3CMOS 1/3" or larger.
* Audio inputs use XLR connections.
When you find this camcorder, all the other stuff - controls on the outside of the camcorder - is generally included. The lens diameter and imaging chip are important because they are what allow low light behavior to be good.

Hopefully when the band performs, there are some stage lights - otherwise, please consider investing in some light trees, PAR cans, power cables and lighting controller/dimmer. Then the band won't be in "low light" and a lesser camcorder can be used... like a Sony HDR-FX7.

Using the camcorder requirements from the 2nd paragraph, the Sony HDR-FX1000 nearly qualifies - but has only a 1/8" (3.5mm) stereo audio input. This can be modified to use XLR mics with an XLR adapter from juicedLink or BeachTek. Add in a decent tripod. Tiffen/Davis & Sanford make affordable ones.

If your definition of "professional camcorder" is different from mine, please let us know.

How do i put vids from my jvc everio onto sony vegas movie studio?

Q. I just got a jvc everio gz hm-30 camcorder. The editing software that comes with it is horrible. The software wont allow me to drag and drop the files to sony vegas. I was wondering if there was any way to transfer them. Any good converters?...Converters that DONT leave the watermark. I have real important footage to edit but im stuck with this problem. Help is appreciated

A. Vegas Movie Studio can edit AVCHD - just import the video files without doing any conversion.

How do I upload an intelli studio (edited) video to blogger?
Q. I have been trying to figure out how to export or change the format of my video that I have edited and that is saved in intelli studio to my blog. I have been unsuccesful thus far. If any one has ever taken a video from there samsung camcorder and edited and saved it using intelli studio software, I really could use some help on knowing how to adjust my final video so that I can upload it onto my blog. Thanks!

A. i think you need to convert the video to streaming video format like flv, swf? if so, i would say you need a converter to do the trick, just free download a trial to see if it works.

How much waste would an independent accounting agent find if they audited the government?

Q. We keep hearing about debt ceilings, deficits, sequesters, budget cuts, and we're constantly being threatened with shorter school days and fewer public services like cops and firefighters if we don't vote to support higher taxes. But I wonder how many BILLIONS in waste we would fine if we were to hire the best accounting company in the country to audit the federal government? How much ridiculous WASTE do you think they would find?

Here are just a few examples:

* Washington spends $25 billion annually maintaining unused or vacant federal properties.

* Government auditors spent the past five years examining all federal programs and found that 22 percent of them costing taxpayers a total of $123 billion annually fail to show any positive impact on the populations they serve!

* A GAO audit classified nearly half of all purchases on government credit cards as improper, fraudulent, or embezzled. Examples of taxpayer-funded purchases include gambling, mortgage payments, liquor, lingerie, iPods, Xboxes, jewelry, Internet dating services, and Hawaiian vacations.

* Federal agencies are delinquent on nearly 20 percent of employee travel charge cards, costing taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars annually.

* The federal government owns more than 50,000 vacant homes.

* Members of Congress have spent hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars supplying their offices with popcorn machines, plasma televisions, DVD equipment, ionic air fresheners, camcorders, and signature machines plus $24,730 leasing a Lexus, $1,434 on a digital camera, and $84,000 on personalized calendars.

A. I would guess around 30% of budget

Can I bring my camera to a concert?
Q. I bought tickets to go to a concert in 2013 and I printed out my tickets and on it it says: No cameras/recorders. And by asking if I can bring my camera I'm not trying to make it irrelevant, but don't people bring their cameras to concerts all the time?
It's at the PNC Arena in Raleigh, NC & the concert is for One Direction.

What will happen if I do bring my camera?
Any idea?

A. For some concerts, they do allow you to bring cameras/camcorders. It will say if it's allowed on the ticket. But in your situation, you're not allowed to because it says it on the ticket. You could sneak your camer in without getting caught(usually hard to do). But if you do sneak it in then you could take pictures and record the concert. But when/if you get caught, they'll kick you out of the concert.

how do i get better video quality using a dazzle dvd recorder?

Q. When i record something with my film camcorder, i transfer it to my computer by playing it back and recording it onto my computer using the dazzle dvd recorder. When i do this however, the video quality drops significantly, but the audio is fine. how do i get better video quality with my dazzle, even though my camcorder doesnt have an s-video output?

A. You did not tell us which camcorder.

If it is an analog camcorder, you are reducing the quality when you transfer to the VOB DVD standard definition format. Each time you compress, you reduce quality. When you compress the video, dideo data is discarded. When you "decompress" the video, the decompression is providing only "best guess" when rebuilding the video.

If you want "best video quality", then don't re-use the tapes - transfer directly from the camcorder to the computer and skip the offload to the DVD recorder.

I don't think you are using a "film" camcorder. Film cameras would require you to send the exposed film out for developing and return to you with the developed film. Analog and digital video tape are more likely what you are using.

If you are using analog tape (VHS, VHS-C, Hi8), then get an analog/digital converter (USB for Pinnacle Dazzle; firewire for Canopus ADVC55 or ADVC110).

If you are using digital tape (Digital8 or miniDV), then install a firewire port on your computer and transfer the digital video directly. Firewire, IEEE1394 and i.LINK are all the same thing. If your computer has no firewire port and no expansion slot to add one, then your only option is the USB-connectinganalog/digital converter described above. USB-to-Firewire adapter/hub/converter/cable things do not work.

In either case, bypassing the DVD step you currently do and saving that for the LAST step of the process will greatly improve your video quality.

If you want to upload videos to the computer easily, what is the best camcorder to have?
Q. Is it better to get a DV camcorder, even though it requires a firewire port? Is it better to get a hard drive or sd card camcorder? I don't want a flash memory camcorder, but most importantly I want a camcorder with good video quality on the camera and the computer once it is transferred.

A. The best video quality continues to come from video captured in DV or HDV format. For consumer camcorders, that means miniDV tape. There are external hard drives for camcorders typically with a firewire port - from companies like Focus Enhancements (FireStore) - but even those external hard drives save to DV or HDV format.

Internal hard drive or flash memory based camcorders typically store the captured video in a very compressed MPEG2 (standard definition) or AVCHD (high definition) format.

DVD camcorders compress even more into their VOB or VRO format files and their video is not menat to be edited - though people try by ripping the video, the quality is not very good.

Video compression = discarded data = reduced video quality.

Firewire400 ports are typically cheap to add
http://shop2.frys.com/search?search_type=regular&sqxts=1&query_string=firewire+card&cat=&submit.x=0&submit.y=0
if your computer has an available PCI port.

If you use an Apple Macintosh, they have had firewire ports for almost ten years... the only exception is the new Mac Air.

From my experience:

MiniDV tape: Lock the tape, then rewind to where you want to start the import, click import, go do something else until the import is done. The clips are a single huge file in the editor, but making the individual clips is as easy as dragging them to the desktop outside the editor window. Store the tape in a cool dry place, nice long shelf life. Camera dies, get another camera. Do not reuse tapes.

Hard drive or flash memory: Since all the files are individual (and there will be more than you expect because the largest file is 20 minutes - there is no frame drop, but there is an extra step to put the clips back together when editing), and copying to your computer is fast - some computer operating systems may need an additional file conversion step. Before you start editing, make another copy of the files for archiving... another hard drive or burning discs (data DVDs, not video DVD format). Camera dies - let's hope all the files were transferred, otherwise, the internal HDD is not removable, so get to know folks like http://drivesavers.com/ and open your wallet REALLY wide...

I'm looking for a cheap professional camcorder Any ideas?

Q. I'm lookin at getting the Sony Hdr-FX1.I've heard alot of good reviews about it.Does anyone have any other advice or any other suggestions.
Well I'm actually looking for something smaller more as of hand held. Like the Sony Hvr-fx1 or the canon xl2

A. I would second the answer about the JVC GYHD110..or Gy-HD111e that we have in Europe. Not only will you shoot good quailty HD but it also shoots some of the best SD DV I've ever seen. I have two of them here as well as Canon Xl1s and XL2. However, the bang for buck goes to JVC. There's a much longer learning curve to the JVC for the novice over the Canon but it's worth it. The JVC certainly is a better buy than the Sony and I tested both of them extensively before committing to the JVC. HD will always be a problem with low light on any HD cam. The thing about the JVC because it shoots in 720p 25 (EU) is that you'll need to use it like a film camera with your speed of pans etc. There's also the old question of cool too..which is not a consideration in my case. If you put the Sony and JVC on the street, people will be more likely to get out of your shot with the JVC as it's bigger and looks more professional. However if you're going in to film in anywhere that's sensitive to publicity with the JVC you're more likely to be asked for a press pass. Whereas with the Sony you could claim it's a hobby camera maybe. If you do learn to drive the JVC it will stand you in good stead if you end up in the higher end of broadcast cameras later.
I hope this helps
Best of luck

What is the best version of the flip camcorders?
Q. These things: http://www.theflip.com/en-us/, there are like 4 different versions.
I want a camera that can take still photos, and take videos that are at least 1 hr long.
I also want it to be good quality, and I don't want it to be any more than $150.
Which one of them would be best for me?

A. Skip the Slide, unless it's on sale for unbelievably cheaper than the other models. Unless you expect to be away from a computer for a very long time (to offload and make space,) or absolutely must review on a 3" screen instead of 2", the 2 hour capacity of the others are plenty.

The Ultra and Mino I assume shoot comparable video, so the main advantage of the Ultra is the replaceable battery and mechanical buttons if you plan to get the underwater housing. The Mino has touch buttons which can be a little difficult to use, (but the record button is a mechanical one,) and is very compact

Note however, because of a filesystem limitation in the Flips, you won't be able to record more than an hour at a stretch. So while 8GB Flips claim a 2 hour capacity, you can't shoot a single 2 hour long video. (At best, you can shoot two 1 hour videos, or a whole bunch of videos that adds up to 2 hours.)

None of the Flips shoot still photos, only 720p video. In theory you could take still frames from your video, but it will likely be blurry, and less than one megapixel in resolution. (2MP is the recommended minimum for printing 4x6 photos.) Look into the other pocket point-and-shoot cameras on the market if you want still photo capability. Though even then, some of those don't have optical zoom or flash units.

Can you use a Sony camcorder with iMovie on a Mac?

Q. I am a mac user and would like to purchase a Sony HDR-CX7 camcorder but dont think Sony is compatible with Macs. Is this true? Is there a work-around?

A. It does not look like it is compatible I found a list of compatible camcorders for iMovie on the Apple website that camcorder does not appear to be listed.

How do you get camcorder videos onto a computer?
Q. I'm using my mom's camcorder, and of course it takes tapes.
So this brings up my question, how the heck do I get these videos onto my computer?
It doesn't come with a cord to do that and I'm not sure they make those cords for this type of camera..
And it also doesn't have an area for memory cards.
So does anyone know how to fix this problem?

A. MiniDV tape uses a firewire cable to connect the camcorder's DV port to the Mac's firewire port. The new MacBooks and the MacBook Air have no firewire port and no way to add one. ALL other Macs made in the last ten years have a firewire port. A firewire cable is not included in the box with the camcorder. USB won't work. USB-to-firewire converter/adapter/hub/cable things won't work.

if you need to edit your camcorder video in imovie, you need to read this article:http://www.iorgsoft.com/Video-Converter-for-Mac/

Probably in the price range of $75-$130, if i can find something that cheap that wont break as soon as i take it out of the box. I was just wanting to know, what should i look for when I go out to buy one? I'm not very smart when it comes to stuff like this...I dont know what a megapixel is or the difference between the types of zooms...I'm just lookin for a camcorder that'll take still pictures and record videos for a good length of time. Possible be handheld too, probably askin for too much for my price range but oh well...Just lookin for some advice

A. You likely can't find a camcorder that will take acceptable video for under $300, unless you do some shopping for a used camcorder on ebay. Review these 10 digital video camera buying tips and it will help you make an informed decision about which camcorder will do what you need:

What should I get my 15 year old boyfriend for his birthday?

Q. My boyfriend is turning 15 next month, and I'm not sure what to get him yet.
Please give me some good ideas!

A. OK,I have some really great ideas and I'm gonna write a really loooooooooong answer:

VIDEO GAMES
A lot of teenage guys love video games. The whole video game business has several gift options for you to choose from. You don't always have to buy a random video game. You can get a brand new gaming system that he has been talking about forever, new controllers, gaming chairs, magazine subscriptions and more. If he likes video games, you can't go wrong with a gaming gift.

Sporting Goods
If this 15-year-old guy happens to play a sport, there's nothing he'll love more than some fresh new sporting gear. Football players might love a new pair of gloves or cleats, basketball players might want a new basketball or pair of sneakers, and golfers will most likely love a new driver or set of irons. If those are too expensive, try getting some new golf balls or a golf bag.

Movies
You can almost never go wrong with movies. You don't always have to be simple and buy a DVD. You can get him a subscription to Netflix or a Blockbuster gift card. You can even get him a gift card that will be accepted at many major movie theaters around.

Music
Just like movies, you can almost never go wrong with music. If he already has an MP3 player, spice things up a little bit with an MP3 skin that he can put on his music device. If he's running out of music, a subscription to an online music store will come in handy, and if you're trying to be really creative, try getting a surround-sound chair. This comfortable chair will have built-in speakers and music hookups.

Camera
He either loves or hates taking pictures, but if he loves it, he really loves it. There are so many cool options out there to choose from that you can't go wrong getting a photography lover a new camera. If he happens to like video, buy him a camcorder instead. You can even get mini camcorders that record audio and video and take still photos. The best thing is that they can fit in his shirt pocket and can directly hook up to his computer for editing.

Concert Tickets
If you know that your son's favorite artist is going to be on tour in your area, get him a few tickets for him and his friends to go. This is always a good gift idea because you don't have to buy exactly on the day of his birthday. Just telling him that you're going to get him tickets to his favorite performer will be a great gift in itself. Just make sure you buy the tickets before they sell out.

Wall Graphics
For those teens who love putting posters up in their room, go one step further and get them a life-size wall graphic. You can get everything from life-size cutouts of Michael Jordan to cool cars and extreme sports. Many of these graphics look so real that you'll feel that there is another person in the room.

Solar Charger
For the teen who has a cellphone, iPod and camera, a solar charger is a cool idea. Just plug your device into the charger and let it sit out in the sun. You'll be able to hook up multiple devices at once, depending on what model you buy, and you can travel safely knowing that your phone battery is never going to die.

Money
One thing that is most certain to please anybody is money. If you just have no idea what to get for a gift, a card with a check in it, some cash, or a gift certificate are all easy choices. He'll be able to go and buy what he wants to buy, and you don't have to worry about him not liking your gift.

OK,I almost died writing this answer.....I really hope you like it and if I don't get the Best Answer for his question I will hang myself, lol!

I have around $3000 to spend solely on camera equipment. Which lens should I get?

Q. Most** things I shoot for are for videos. I really love making short films and I just got an increase in budget. Anyway, I wanna know what lens I can get for this. Of course, I really don't wanna spend more than $1500 on lenses. I was told that prime lenses were the best options but I'm still unsure. I was reviewing the canon 85mm f1.8 as a choice and it seems very nice but, idk if I should spend the extra money and go for a 85mm f1.2. It's a hard decision as the second lens gives much better quality. But then there's the other side in which I could get more than one lens if I buy the f1.8. Right now I own a canon 6d and have the 50mm f1.4 lens. I had more but I sold them for personal reasons.
Please help!!

A. Here's an APS-C digital camcorder with an interchangeable lens system.

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/890796-REG/Sony_NEX_VG30_Camcorder_Body_Only.html

The extra money can be used to shop for NEX lenses. Prime lenses are fast and can be used in low light. Zoom lenses are more versatile without moving out of place. I suggest you get a mix of both.

Do you like fujifilm cameras?
Q. im planning on buying the Fujifilm FinePix S2950 digital camera. But i wanted to know what do you think about fujifilm camera? I need to know i dont wanna end up buying a bad camera...please help

A. Hi Sara, and welcome to Y!A Camcorders:

Fuji doesn't really make any true camcorders, so normally this Question would be better posted over in the Y!A "Cameras" category. But at least this model FinePix has a decent zoom lens (18x optical) and shoots 720p HD video clips, in addition to 14Megapixel stills.

One step up from a basic "point & shoot" camera, this model is what is called a "bridge camera" (more features than just snapshot cameras, but not quite an SLR-style camera). The lens may have a long-zoom range compared to most cameras in its price class ($150-$200), but it's also not a very "fast" lens (wide-open it only has F3.1 to F5.6, depending on wide-angle or zoomed-in) so it's not very good in low-light situations. So if you shoot video with it (where the flash is useless) indoor results might be disappointing.

Fuji is a good brand name (they're the "Japanese Kodak" when it comes to camera film & processing) and like Kodak they've made cameras for years. They're just not one of the first brand names professionals and skilled amateurs think of when shopping for equipment.

CNet reviews gave this model 3-out-of-5 stars ("Good"), but pointed out the low-light and other shooting performance issues: see http://reviews.cnet.com/digital-cameras/fujifilm-finepix-s2950/4505-6501_7-34468871.html

Here's a Digital Photography Reviews article that's more of a copy of Fuji's press release than a review, but it covers all the features and specifications: http://www.dpreview.com/news/2011/1/5/fujifilms2950

Decide what kind of photos and videos are important to you, and if having a long lens isn't that important, you might search around for a better camera or camcorder in the same price range. But if you found that this model handles your style of shooting, and the price is right, go for it.

Just keep in mind that "cameras" are mainly designed for stills, and "camcorders" have features that make it easier for shooting videos.

hope this helps,
--Dennis C.

My camera doesn't have an input slot for a microphone. How do I get good quality audio?

Q. I like making movies with my friends, but when I shoot with my miniDV camcorder the audio doesn't sound too great in post-production. I need to be able to record voices so that they sound better. I would buy a boom microphone or something, but my miniDV camcorder doesn't have an input slot for an external microphone. Is there any other way to record good quality audio without having a microphone attached to the camera I'm recording with (on a small budget)?

A. Your camera might be have a hot shoe accessory mount and you could add a microphone that way. If it doesn't then you will need to use an external audio recorder. You will need to then sync the audio with the video in post. The only problem with this is that they are somewhat expensive for good ones. Not sure about the quality but one like this http://www.amazon.com/Olympus-WS-300M-Digital-Recorder-Player/dp/B000BJ1UAE would probably be ok. Then you plug your mic into that. In order to sync the video you use a clap board. How you do this is you find the exact spot where the clap board first goes down in the video and then you will need to find the biggest spike in the audio and then you sync the to together. Hope this helps

Hey guys I was hoping to get some help with an audio issue.?
Q. I'm doing a school project where I have to do a 45 minute long video. I have a nice camcorder and everything but there's just one problem. The camera doesn't have an external microphone input. I know I can just use the internal mic but it's not the best quality. I was wondering if there's a way to get good solid sound quality without using an external microphone. Get back to me soon. Thanks!

A. you might not realize this, but all Hollywood movies are shot silent! the audio is recorded separate, sometimes even at a later time and mixed in. See if the school has a simple digital audio recording mic, that will work better than the camcorders mic because it can be placed strategically closer to the performers. import the audio file into the video editor.

What is the best camcorder in 2013?

Q. Hi

I Want to produce high quality short films, any detailed suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Many thanks
Ideally under 1500 dollars.

A. No budget? I'd start at the RED Epic. A buddy of mine uses one for indie projects and has great results.

Pawn shop sold my stuff that was stolen from me. What can I do?
Q. I had my Sony hdr-xr200v handycam stolen around 11/2012. I knew the kid that did it but had no proof. (Frustrating)

(as of 02/2013)
I recently was tipped off that he sold it to a local pawn shop who in turn sold it off to someone else. I made a police report back the same month it was taken out of my car. I haven't been to the store yet but I don't know what to expect. I know they must have in on their books still.

Is there any way that I can get any amount of recompense for the camcorder?

I live in Vermont and pawn shops here are set up so that they don't hold your items. They buy your stuff and sell it off as fast as they can.

A. you go to the police with the information you received. Pawn shops keep records and the police can access them. the records should include the serial number and the name [and ID] of the person who sold it to them. If the serial number matches, the police then have evidence to charge the person who sold the item to them with dealing in stolen property.

and you sue that person in small claims court to get your recompense. [not the pawn shop -- to successfully sue them, you'd have to show they did something wrong.]

Should I upgrade to the xbox 360 slim? or should a buy a 3ds instead?

Q. I already have the xbox 360 arcade system and I never brought a hard drive for it and the slim model does look good. I also like portable gaming and I'm in college and can play the 3ds in between my classes. I was also thinking about the ps3 but for $250 that is to much! And I could just buy a blu-ray player if I really want which at the moment I don't so any advice is good advice so thanks :)

A. The X Box 720 is coming out in 2013.

So You shouldn't get another X Box until 2013.

So You should get the 3DS

Because you can play music (even with the system close)

You can LOWER the VOLUME of 3D

You can also turn the 3D OFF Completely

And 3D is good for working out your eye muscles & brain to keep them in shape as shown in this link:

The Nintendo 3DS has downloadable 3D Music videos from today's American music artist which I have already downloaded the 3 free 3D Music Videos to watch anywhere and the 3DS has 3D "Blue Man Group" video and College Humor (in 3D) with the FREE "Nintendo Video" App that you can download (but its 4 3D Videos at a time and they replace them once in a while) and you can download cheap downloadable 3D Apps & 3D games costing from 99 cents to $5.99 and the Nintendo 3DS also has FREE downloadable 3D Apps & 3D Games, which I have already downloaded 3 Free 3D Apps and I have downloaded 2 Free 3D Games and the 3DS has a 3D Camera and I have already used the 3DS 3D Camera to take 3D photos and I have uploaded some of my 3D footage online using the Nintendo 3DS's Web Browser to upload my 3D footage online and I have used my 3DS Web Browser to also download other peoples 3D footage from the Internet on my 3DS Web Browser and I have view all sorts of 3D content on 3D Websites online on my 3DS's Web Browser and I have use my 3DS 3D Camera to play 3D Augmented Reality games as well and it's all in 3D without the Glasses using the 3DS 3D Camera and It has beautiful 3D HD graphics that equal to that of a 3D HD version of Wii Graphics and I have Streamed 3D Videos Online on my 3DS in the eShop and I have also Watch 3D Trailers for upcoming 3D movies coming to Theaters in 3D and I have done all of this in 3D Without the Glasses

The 3DS with a Wi-Fi Update can RECORD 3D Videos in 60 fps (unlike other camcorders, that only Record in 2D Only and in up to 30 fps only)

So you can pay $169 for a Nintendo 3DS and buy the greatest Games ever & all in 3D Without the Glasses like Cave Story 3D & Kid Icarus & Super Mario 3D Land & Mario Kart 7 using the MOTION SENSORS to play the game like if you were turning a real steering wheel to turn the Kart left & right and also play such other 8 GB 3D Games like TheatRhytem Final Fantasy & Kingdom Hearts 3D & Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D & Crush 3D and Shinobi & Animal Crossing & Rodea the Sky Soldier & Michael Jackson: the Experience 3D & Ridge Racer 3D & Super Street Fighter 4 3D & Monster Hunter 4 & Golden Sun 4 & Star Fox 3D & Zelda 3D & Sonic Generations 3D & Tetris 3D & Resident Evil: Revelations & Tales of the Abyss 3D & Tekken 3D which also has the 3D Movie Tekken the Movie 3D in it to watch and also play other 8 GB 3D HD games as Spider Man 3D and 100% of the 3DS games are in HD 3D Without the Glasses

And the 3DS pixel density is MUCH sharper than an average HD TV

They're making Angry Birds 3D as a downloadable game

And the 3DS has DLC (Downloadable Content) like Xbox Live for a bunch of 3DS games to add content to the game later on for Free

1 of the Free 3D Apps I have downloaded was Netflix

And Netflix is getting 3D Movies in the next few months, so for $169 you can watch 3D movies on the free Netflix App on the 3DS in 3D Without the Glasses

And 100% of the people who have said that they get headaches from 3D, have said that after up to 1 week of using the 3DS they NO LONGER get headaches anymore and that they now play with the 3D all the way up 100% all the time, non-stop

But I have never had any problem with the 3D at all, but each person has a different experience with the 3D ON during the first week

You can now pay to download 3D Videos on the 3DS

The 3DS is getting Hulu Plus before the end of this year (2011) as a Free downloadable App and Hulu already has 3D Content

and you can check this Link below for more 3DS Games:

And there are such great cheap downloadable games from the eShop as:

Sakura Samurai: Art of the Sword

Dillon's Rolling Western

Pushmo

Pyramids

And here are the 2D Resolutions:

Wii = 640

3DS = 800

And here are the Motion Sensors:

Wii = 1 Axis

3DS = 3 Axis

And here are the Frame Rates (Frames Per Second):

X Box 360 Slim = 30 fps

3DS = 60 fps

And the 3DS Wireless is 2.4 GHz.

And here are the Audio's:

X Box 360 Slim = 5.1 Surround Sound

3DS = 7.1 Surround Sound

And the 3DS has way more better graphics than the Wii as shown in this Link Here:

What are the differences between a camcorder and a professional video camera?

Q. Are there huge differences in the video quality you can get from a HD consumer camcorder and a little "professional" cameras...the type videographers and local news stations use on location. What are the other main differences in capability?

A. Consumer camcorders have small lenses and small imaging chip(s). This combination results in their not doing too well in low-light situations. Prosumer and pro-grade camcorders have much larger lenses and larger imaging chips.

Consumer camcorders' manual controls are generally not easily accessible. Prosumer and pro-grade camcorders have easily accessible manual zoom, manual focus, manual iris/exposure, manual shutter and manual audio controls... and neutral density filters and video gain control.

Many consumer camcorders generally do not have any mic jack or other audio-in capability other than the built-in mics. A few have a 1/8" (3.5mm) stereo mic jack (but generally no manual audio control). Prosumer models generally have a 1/8" (3.5mm) stereo mic jack with manual audio control. Pro-grade camcorders have built-in XLR audio connectors.

Consumer camcorders are generally built to be used hand-held, even though no one should ever do that. Prosumer models are larger - and while designed to be hand held, rarely are; the large ENG (Electronic News Gathering) pro models are nearly always shoulder mountable. The advantage of the shoulder mount translates into a much steadier shot - though a tripod or camera crane or other steadying device would be steadier than shoulder mount.

Other features like frame rate, interlaced vs progressive frame capture, add-on lens selection and quality, LANC (a wired remote) jack availability, matte box availability, filter selection, will also come into play.

You will also find that the vast majority of the pro camcorders use miniDV tape or save to an external hard drive that stores in DV or HDV format (same as miniDV tape). Panasonic has a few new internal hard drive or flash memory pro-grade camcorders. Red has a family of them. Sony, Canon and JVC pro lines continue to be on the DV/HDV page.

In good daylight, tripod mounted, no movement of the subject or the camera, with normal audio levels, it would be a challenge to differentiate 1080i/p 30fps video. Deviate from this, and the differences get very obvious, very quickly. Video is captured under lots of different lighting conditions, there may not be time to set up a tripod, and audio levels can be from 0 to REALLY LOUD in an instant... and the reason we capture video is for the motion...

Under many conditions, the ENG camcorder audio is not even used even though it is captured - an external field recorder (Edirol, Zoom, Marantz, M-Audio, Fostex) is used to capture the audio you end up hearing on TV and a separate audio person is employed just to be sure the audio is correctly captured.

So yes, there are huge differences - which is why a low-end consumer camcorder costs less than $300 and a decent pro camcorder can be as low as $3,000 or as high as $60,000...

But a skilled person with a low-end camcorder will always capture much better video than a non-skilled person with the most expensive camcorder...

What type of camcorder should I use for posting videos on Youtube and to put on to DVDs?
Q. I need a camcorder I'm just not sure wheter to get MiniDV, MiniDVD, etc. Help!

A. MiniDV has been around longer and is cheaper than a MiniDVD camcorder. For all intents and purposes, the quality is the same as MiniDVD (though MiniDV is capable of higher quality than miniDVD can achieve). MiniDVD burns directly onto the discs which you can put into your computer and edit or upload to the internet. With MiniDV, you need an IEEE1394 firewire cable to connect your camcorder to an appropriate IEEE port. Your will have to buy the cable, and maybe an adapter as well if your computer doesn't have the port. You can get both for cheap though - under $30 at amazon.

MiniDVDs are only able to record 30 minutes onto a disc, where as MiniDVs are able to record 60 minutes at high quality onto a tape. Go to a store and try some out and see how they feel in your hands and which you think would be more convenient for you. You can't really go wrong with either one for youtube purposes, though I feel that MiniDV has more upside as a purchase.

What is the best Hard Drive camcorder on the market?

Q. I was planning on buying Sony SR47 (60 GB) hard drive camcorder, but I did not read too many good reviews on it.
($399.99)
Any suggestions??

A. Just to be clear - the Sony DCR-SR47 is an entry level, consumer grade, internal hard drive based camcorder. It is nowhere near "best".

Personally, I do not recommend internal hard drive based camcorders because of their known problems with vibration, loud audio, and high altitude... they can stop recording under these conditions. Flash memory and miniDV tape do not sffer from these problems. As well, HDD camcorders can be VERY challenging when the camcorder breaks and the video has not already been transferred to a computer. The removable media used by miniDV tape and flash memory can be used by other camcorders so access to the video is easier after camcorder failure.

The video file formats are the same when comparing HDD and flash memory - assuming the lenses and imaging chips are the same, the video quality from these camcorders is the same. The only difference is the storage media. Standard definition DV (used by miniDV tape based camcorders) is much less compressed and results in better video quality - again, assuming the lenses and imaging chips are the same size as the "equivalent" HDD and flash memory camcorders... MiniDV tape based camcorders require your computer to have a firewire port. HDD and flash memory camcorders use USB to copy the files - but many times those files need to be converted using a utility like MPEG StreamClip before a video editor can deal with it.

I strongly suggest you stay with miniDV tape (Sony DCR-HC62, Panasonic PV-GS320, Canon ZR960) or flash memory (Canon FS100) and skip hard disc drive camcorders. The ZR960 and FS100 have a mic jack (but no manual audio control) that other camcorders in this class do not have.

What is the easiest/best camcorder on the market that will transfer to DVD and computer in a cinch?
Q. I want to be able to video my 3 year old growing up and so I will tote the camcorder around and don't want to be so heavy and bulky. I want to be able to put it in my purse and go.

A. A couple months ago i was doing this same kind of questions because i also whas going to buy a cam for my dauthers birth and after plenty of reading and comparing diferent models side by side here is what i remember....
Ok Cameras that use the miniDV tapes most have a lot of features but after the taping is done and you whant to make a DVD for grandma ,if you have 45 min of filw in the cam it will take you the same amount of time to transfer to your computer.
Meaning 30min on tape 30min to transfer into a computer so you can edit and make a DVD.
Its slow and all but quality is suposed to be better and the blank tapes cost a bit though they are coming down but still you have to have blank ones so you have less space in your bag..
Then you have the miniDVD.
Ok the DVD are a bit cheaper than the tapes but one of the cons of this type is that after you record and the dvd is full now you have to finalise the dvd and that alone depending on the model and manufacturer can take from 1min to 3min so anything else that hapens in that tape you miss it . Transfer to computer is a bit faster. Still have to keep more blank dvd with you.
Then you have the one i decided for the cam with hard drives.
These are smaller than the other 2 and no need for extra expense in any kind of blank media. Transfer to computer is easy and and after you are done you decide what you whant to burn on dvd.
In my opininon go with the Hard Drive kind of cam, they cost a bit more but it pays itself back in no time with not having to buy blank media all the time.

Hope this help a bit.

What professional camcorder would you recommend?

Q. I make ski movie shorts but this year I am making my first full length film. I have a pretty expensive consumer camcorder but I was not satisfied with its performance this past season. I need something professional, cheap, durable, fairly light weight, and easy to operate. I know I will have to compromise on some of these things - but do you have any suggestions?

A. What is your budget?

What are you planning to edit with and on?

"Cheap" is a relative term and means different things to different people.

Why weren't you satisfied with what you are using? It is difficult to know what issues we are trying to resolve.

Professional grade - to me - means:
Lens diameter: 72mm or larger
Imaging chip size: 1/4" or larger
XLR audio connectors
Lots of easy to reach manual controls (audio, zoom, focus, aperture, white balance, etc.) on the outside of the camcorder - not buried in the menu.

Prosumers (all of the above, but 1/8" audio in jack, not XLR):
Standard definition: Canon GL2
High Definition: Sony HDR-FX7, HDR-FX1000

Pro grade (meets all the above requirements):
Standard definition: Panasonic AG-DVX100, Canon XL2
High Definition: Sony HVR-Z1U, HVR-Z5U, HVR-Z7U (then they jump to the more expensive XDCAM and HDCAM families), Canon XH and XLH series, Panasonic AG-HVX200, HVX205, JVC GY-HM series.

All are larger than consumer-grade cameras - but all have fully automatic or fully manual settings - and variations in between.

Whats the difference from Prosumer and Consumer?
Q. From what i understand an HD camera has better quality than a non HD. But somehow a prosumer camera without HD quality is worth more than non HD consumer camera.
What makes the prosumer camera worth it?
For the purposes of making a professional DVD to sell that includes medical rehabilitation exercises what type of camera would be best? (for as cheap as possible)
These exercises are things like a doctor moving around someones head with their hands indoors, not like jumping around exercise.

A. Consumer camcorders have small lenses and small imaging chips. Mostly, they do not have an audio in jack (some do), and if they do have a mic in jack it is 1/8" (3.5mm) stereo only. Manual controls are difficult to get to - if they are available... and there is typically no manual audio control.

Prosumers start with manual audio control, have an audio in (stereo) 1/8" mic jack... Some even use XLR connectors for audio-in... and can have larger lenses and bigger imaging chips (allows for better low-light capture characteristics). Manual controls are easier to get to and use.

Pro grade have big lenses, big imaging chips, everything can be manual or auto (audio, zoom, exposure/iris, shutter, focus, etc) XLR audio connectors and 1/8" mic-in...

Typical high-end consumer: Canon HV20, HV30, Sony HDR-HC7, HDR-HC9

Typical prosumer standard definition: Canon GL2, Sony DCR-VX2100, Panasonic DVX100B

Typical prosumer or low-end pro high definition: Canon XHA1, Sony HDR-A1U, HDR-FX1, HDR-FX7,

Typical end pro-grade: Panasonic HVX200, Sony HVR-V1U, HVR-Z1U...

There are others, but this is a place to start.

For what you say you want to do, I would stay in the "Typical prosumer or low-end pro high definition" category. This is because theses camcorders can shoot in standard definition and high definition...

The camera is only part of the equation - tripod, crane, mics, lighting, makeup, wardrobe, editing, experience... there is lots more that goes into making pro-grade video... but the first step is to start with decent equipment.

Can you transfer the videos from a cd from a camcorder cd to a dvd cd?

Q. My friends and I did a project on my friends camcorder (DVD) and the little CD has our video on it. So, I was wondering how we could get the video onto a normal sized DVD CD. Is it possible, and if it is, how do you do it?

A. Yes. You can use Nero, or other DVD authoring programs.

How do you play and save a video in (dvd-r format ) to your computer?
Q. I have no idea what I'm doing. A friend gave me a small camcorder dvd, so I could download the video to "youtube". I gave it a shot and nothing happened. I really need step by step instructions. Starting from right after you put it in your tower. Thanx.

A. Those mini DVD camcorders are neat, but you need to use the correct software in order to make a YOUTUBE type video. The software should be either boxed with your camcorder or downloadable. The trouble with the camcorder is that it probably will not record in a format that is usable for YOUTUBE. You need to use the program to compose and clip the video, then convert it to a common AVI file. Once that is done you can go to this link, it will show you how to upload a video!

or

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2EXKh_aXO

like what do you think a camera would be that has that good quality, and how much do you think it would cost?

A. Here is a video shot using a Nikon D7000 with four different lenses.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMbBKukJzBk

As you can see, this camera shoots very well in low light situations

Really by the time you buy such a dSLR, the lenses and necessary accessories to make it a viable video camera, you could buy a REAL video camera

Take a look here for real video cameras:

Help me find a good HD camcorder with external mic input and has a low price?

Q. I need a new camcorder and I was in preference for one with an external Mic input and HD recording, (optional switchable lenses) AND ALL FOR A LOW PRICE!

A. sure, shop the Kodak Zi10 playtouch.

What High Definition Camcorder should I get?
Q. I will be setting up a small studio with green screen and need to buy a high def camcorder. What I need is bang for my buck and good Video quality with a good lens. Big and bulky is not a problem.

Also with the ability to accept an external mic input.

Any ideas?

A. One thing with making a good chroma-key is the necessity to have as little compression as possible. Stepping up from HDV into higher-quality HD formats such as Panasonic's P2 and Sony's XDCam might be something to consider. Once you get into that price range, mic inputs are just automatically part of the package.

Lighting, of course, is also incredibly important - have to get that green to be as consistent as possible.

Of course, the concern here is budget. Not sure what your range is.
