camcorders?

Q. I would like to buy a camcorder/video recorder for Christmas.It needs to be able to record at night/dark light can anyone recomend any as I don't have a clue! there is a Sony DCR52 in comet that's reasonably priced. Doesn't necessarily need to take still pics as I already posses a cracking camera.
Can anybody recomend one?

A. well, the camcorder i just got for my birthday which was like a week ago, is a jvc gr-d770 mini dv camcorder and it is very very good, you can put your vids on the computer and take still pictures which you said you dont want but you might was well get that so you have a camera and a camcorder, but it has a bright bright led light on it and its just amazing, here is the link from walmart

but if your looking for a camcorder with night vision then its going to cost a lot of money and really its not worth it, just get one with a light

A. I would be very wary of that kind of camcorder, if you're talking about the cheap, flash-memory units from companies like Aiptek, DXG, and FlipVideo. These Chinese camcorders are made using very small, low quality CMOS sensors, they don't have real zooms (digital zoom is all but useless), and they use very high levels of MPEG-4 compression. While no consumer camcorders are good in the dark, these are the worst.

I recommend, if you see one you think you like, find some reviews of it online... check out user feedback on Amazon, check out eOpinions, see if someone asked about that specific model here, and check online to see if they have sample video.

These are perfectly fine for video blogging on YouTube, where the low quality is made lower still, but it would generally be a mess on DVD. If that's all you're after, have at it, but shop carefully.

What is the longest lasting battery i can get for my camcorder?

Q. It's the Kodak playsport Zx3. I've seen many different batteries for it, but don't know which one provides the longest use. I need help from an expert. Please be descriptive, I want to know exactly the details that make it the best. This camcorder takes great quality videos, it just barely lasts any time, less than an hour. More like half an hour, even though some say it is standard for the battery to last about an hour. I really am looking for a big change.

A. there is only one correct battery for a Playsport Zx3 and that is the KLIC7004. my experience is the Kodak brand battery works best, i have tried internet generic replacements and tossed them out. you should be able to get the Kodak battery at Walmart or photo stores.
