Which is the better camcorder? kodak vs kodak?

Q. i have been looking at cheap HD camcorders in the style of flips video cameras and looked at these 2 camcorders both from kodak. i can get them cheap so im wondering which one is best. they both have nearly the same specs and different screen sizes and looks but if anyone owns one of these camcorders that would be helpful.

HELP! What camcorder will be replacing the discontinued Kodak Zi8?

A. There seems to be an unverified rumor that the Kodak Zi8 is being discontinued. I have not been able to confirm that rumor. But it's not uncommon for electronics, like camcorders to be discontinued with a newer model replacement. As technology changes so does marketing. The Zi8 proceeded the Zi6 is 2009 and the price has been dropping over the last couple of months. It was $115.00 on amazon.com about a week ago. If you watch the time lines of camcorders coming and going, there seems to be about a two year life. That said, Kodak just released the Kodak Playtouch and the Kodak Mini Video camera. If I could, I would like to own a Zi8. It has many features that other pocket cams don't have:

128GB of memory and can use memory cards (Most pocket cams have a lot less memory and cannot use cards)
Can take 5.3MP still images (many pocket cams cannot)
Has an external microphone input port (I don't know of any pocket cams that do).
Recharges using an A/C power adapter (most must use USB only)

Which HD camcorder is best Kodak Zi8 or Sony Webbie HD MHS-PM1?

The good: Video capture up to 1080p HD resolution; image quality is quite good for a mini camcorder; SD card slot; removable, rechargeable battery; bundled composite and HDMI cables; strong low-light performance; external mic jack; electronic image stabilization; 5-megapixel still capture; macro focus mode.

The bad: Bundled software isn't Mac compatible but necessary for smooth playback of 1080p video; price doesn't include an optional memory card.

The bottom line: With the Zi8, Kodak finally surpasses Flip Video's video quality and feature set.




Sony Webbie

The good: Attractive design; captures video at 720p and 1080p "HD" resolution; memory-card expansion slot; swiveling lens; component video cables; rechargeable lithium ion battery.

The bad: Price doesn't include an optional memory card (onboard memory is limited to 12MB for capturing video); rechargeable battery doesn't recharge via USB connector; no integrated USB connector; no protective carrying case included.

Q. Which one is better? I'm not sure if i sure return my camera(coolpix s220) for the camcorder(kodak zi8). I already have a backup camera that i'm satisfied with. Could someone help me ?

A. The Kodak Zi8 is a good pocket camcorder but there are others you may want to check out. I added a link to a website that shows 7 pocket camcorders side by side.

Although having a camera that can take stills as well as video or visa versa, comes with limitations, as opposed to having one camera for each. It is nice to have such devices small enough to fit in a pocket or purse and we'd rather carry just one, most of the time.

What camcorder is good for snowboarding?

Q. My friends and i like to snowboard and we always wanted to take videos of each other snowboarding. We were always reluctant to buy a camcorder cause they always seemed fragile andnot able to handle the cold temperatures. Is there a camcorder that is durable enough for these conditions?

A. it depends. i saw in APRIL the kodak Zx1 is coming out in hd, the second pocket hd camcorder after the Kodak Zi6. it is said to be mud and water resistant, but not like submerged in water but like in the rain. i dont know if id work for snow, but it will be $150 . but now, there is now the Creative Vado HD or just the creative vado. the crative vado is 86dollars on amazon, and HD one is about 190 dollars. those both have a flip out usb. ther ius also the flips, but i dont like those as much because of there low memory and battery life. and last there is the kodak Zi6 for 150 rite now with a flip out usb, and can be bought anywhere. so there are a few good small, pocket camcorrders and i hope u have fun making videos with them!!!
