camera for still pictures
camcorder for moving pictures
It does not matter how you look at it neither can do the other ones job very well. so it depends if you want to mainly take stills or movies.
even a cheap stills camera will take good pictures hy not get a cheap stills and a reasonable camcorder, or the other way round.

A. To be honest, I spent 1000$ for mine, and I am still not happy with it. You need to save a bit more money, and then get a DSLR for Music Video. Normal camcorder won't do the job. Unless you are really good at postproduction, then you might get away with a HD flipcam.
