What is a good camcorder for skateboarding?

Q. I'm looking for one that is under $250 and is very good for filming skateboarding and can use a fish-eye lens

A. The Canon HV30 or Sony Vx2100 is good

What kind of camera should i get?
Q. Ok so here is the deal, i need to buy a camcorder for filming skateboarding. Now im looking for a price thats between $100-$200, and im looking for a camera that has a palm holder, and that looks nice.
Got any ideas?

A. I would mostly recomend a Sony camera. Everything that my family has bought, (electronic wise) has been Sony. Camera, T.V, Playstation, DVD player, etc. We are very happy with thier products and what they have to offer. My father has a Sony camera. It is amazingly clear, and just a great product in general. Very good, reliable, brand. Good luck!

What is the best cameras/camcorders for skateboarding?
Q. Looking within probably 250-450 dollars (US) for a good camera, with multi-shot and the like, or a good camcorder. Any suggestions or anyone who could lead me to a site that has suggestions would be great.

A. If you are really on a budget and want the best quality for the money, check out the P&S Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28 which has more features than most pro DSLRs that require auxiliary lenses not even equal to the single initial full-range lense that comes with the FZ28. It is reviewed at:

http://www.steves-digicams.com/2008_reviews/panasonic_fz28.html

It just came out on November 4, 2008.

It's an all-in-one 10.1 megapixel DSLR camera which includes (i) built-in image stabilization; (ii) HDTV quality video [Quicktime]; (iii) a 18x zoom [27 - 486 mm (35mm equiv.)] "Leica" lense for nature photography; (iv) up to 0.39 inch macro option; (v) up to 6400 ASA; (vi) takes up to 380 pictures per 120 min. battery charge; (vii) has a "burst speed" of 13 fps; and sells new for $270 at amazon.com.

Here's an actual handheld picture of the moon:

What is a good camera/camcorder to film skateboarding?
Q. I need a camera to film skateboarding and I want one that can not only film well but take pictures also. My range is about 200-400$! And it has to be able to put a fisheye lens on it.

A. Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX9V as the video is amazing, with many options, zooming while shooting, stereo sound, great auto focus, fantastic in low light. Keep in mind that for the highest quality setting, 1080p/60 fps AVCHD, if you want to view it on a Mac, you'll need to have the latest version of iMovie '11, running on at least the latest version of Snow Leopard (OS 10.6.8). Of course, you can now upload these .MTS files directly to the various on-line sites such as Facebook, YouTube, and Google+/Picasa, and you can view them on your HDTV through the mini-HDMI out (which is great).

What camera should I use for filming my skateboarding tricks?

Q. I'm very good at skateboarding and I want to buy a good camera to film my skateboarding so I can make a video. What camera should I get? I want one that will film very good and it has to be cheap. I want my videos to look like pro. What are the best Mega Pixel to use?

A. Well, that is always the worst struggle in buying cameras: Price vs. Quality. Megapixel usually refers to picture cameras not camcorders, but speaking of picture quality, you may or may not want to look into an hd camera. Even though some cameras do say hd it doesn't really mean much. For me I use a sony vx1000 which is not HD but it is very very common in the skateboarding industry. It is 3ccd, which provides great picture, on top of the already beautiful colors it is capable of achieving. They will be probably over 500 dollars, but they are only getting cheaper as the HD age is taking over. Making your videos look like the pro videos will require you to buy a panasonic hvx along with a "death" fisheye lens which will put you back 6 grand or so. I would simply start out with something like a Panasonic SDR-H80K and get a fisheye for it. Good luck bro!

What camcorder would you recommend for skateboarding?
Q. I need a camcorder that runs for about a hundred and fifty to two hundred dollars. I cant seem to find too many that do well in low lighting. Any brand will obviously do!

A. Seriously, if youre talking in that price range, just pick pretty much any miniDV camera out there. All of them are pretty much the same in that price range. None of them are gonna have good low light, because they have tiny (1/6 inch usually) chips, and bigger ones are more expensive. So just grab one that feels good in your hand, has good optical zoom and look for some manual features (if any exist), and youll be fine. Hope this helps!
