Live Video Streaming Online with a Video Camera?

Q. I'm planning on live streaming an event online in a couple of weeks, and recently I've decided on switching from a webcam to an actual video camera. Problem is I have NO IDEA how to connect a video camera into the USB port of a computer to work as a webcam. Do i need an adapter? Plz help! Thx for your input.

A. First off, very few HD camcorders can Live stream video through a USB port. It all depends on what your live streaming, how many cameras your going to have and many more things. If doing this with a single camcorder, A MiniDV tape camcorder hooked by Firewire to a IEEE1394 port can live stream video no problem, I know, I own 3 of those camcorders and do it daily. Going with Multiple camcorders, you would need a tricaster - http://newtek.com/products/tricaster-40.html and camcorders that could hook by the AV ports on them.

What videocameras or camcorders can be used as a webcam?
Q. I'm looking to start video broadcasting VIA live stream on the internet,.. and frankly all the Logitech etc "webcams" leave allot to be desired in terms of picture quality and sound.

Does anyone make a camcorder or videocam that can be used via firewire or USB 2.0 as a webcam?

A. Hello
I am sorry that nobody here was able to answer your question. personally I don't know how to answer this question but you can try this
TenDollarAnswer.com
You can ask any type of question.. They charge you but its cheaper then calling an expert IMHO.. The best part is you get your money back if you are not satisfied.
Hope that helps.
