What is great camcorder for under $350?

Q. I saw a JVC Everio 30HD for $299, but I dont know how it compares to others. I would like something of good quality, but nothing thats gonna break my purse. I have 2 little ones that I want to capture the special moments, something that has great lighting for indoors, something that catches voices nicely, and something that is very very very easy to use. I like the idea of the hard drive, so that i dont have to keep spending money on memory cards or discs. Let me know if there are any downsides to the HDs. Appreciate any ideas, thanks.

A. well i personally own a kodak m1033 hd camera which cost me only 200 bucks for a PERFECT hd camera. the only thing is it doesn't have the zoom of a camcorder and i had to buy a 16gb memory card (got an hd one for 20 bucks onsale). i have had ALOT of hd video on my camera and it still wasn't filled up. lol. i love the screen on my camera too. crisp videos and pictures. as for you question i would say that 300 bucks is cheap for an hd camcorder (my sis just got a $500 one :P) but i personally think you should just get a good camera with the biggest memory card you can get because solid state (memory cards) drives don't have any mechanical parts to wear out or break where as hard drives have an arm touching a disk (kinda like a record player) and if it gets dropped or too much movement (REALLY REALLY SHAKEY) it could possibly damage it. hope this helps
