Q. I'm kinda near broke and am going to see relatives over xmas.My old camcorder died and I want to film the kids... I read such good reviews about the flip ,that I was thinking it might be a cheaper alternative til I can get a better one. But,my computer needs to be replaced too... Can you store footage and download when I get a new computer? I film mostly my kids. Or any other ideas?
A. If your computer still works then you could still save the video to it and then when you get your new computer just copy the videos from the old drive to the new one.
If you have a friend that would look after your videos on their computer you could do it that way, I know its difficult when money is tight, I think most of the world is in the same situation. You could always ask if your relatives have a laptop they could bring with them, and then you could happily film and they could look after the video for you. Just a thought.

Q. I want an inexpensive (up to $500) camcorder that is good for video editing/movie making. I've heard Mini DV formats are good, but I kind find much out there. Are hard drive or flash memory any good?
