Q. I'm just starting out on youtube. I made two videos today on my webcam on my Mac. I want to continue making videos however I want to buy higher quality equipment but I can't find a camera for under $500 that has been recommended to me. Any advice? A. Many still cameras have video functions, and especially the DSLRs with video produce decent enough results. If you only want to record an occasional video clip, then sure…… no problem.
However, if video is important to you, you are MUCH better off with a camcorder.
At this point in time, they still do a much better job (and are much more user-friendly) at video and audio recording than still cameras can.

A. You, like so many others, don't understand. There is no such thing as good quality at that cheap money. If you want quality you'll need at least $500 or more. $100 will get you a little pocket toy but it won't be quality, it'll be junk in not very long.
