Q. I have a Sony 8mm camcorder. I recorded some outdoor footage. I uploaded it to my computer however, the scenes are a little grainy and a bit pixilated. A. There's not a lot you can do about it.
Make sure your watching it at the captured resolution as making it a larger dimension will make it look worse.
The pixelation should only occur after encoding the original footage, try increasing the encoders bitrate to improve quality.

How do you transfer things recorded on an 8mm to a DVD?
Q. I was going through some boxes and found some old 8mm tapes of some of my stuff from high school and old birthday parties. I thought it would be nice to transfer them to DVD.
I put the tapes in the 8mm camcorder and plugged the camcorder into my DVD-R to record the tapes.
Then I found that the camcorder no longer works.
Well, I thought there was an adapter where you could put the 8mm tape into a tape that resembled a VHS tape. However, after some research I found that no such adapter exists for an 8mm tape.
I have asked if anyone else has an 8mm tape, and so far no one does. I found that places like Wal-Mart can transfer them for me, but the lowest price I've found is $25 per tape, and I have about 20 tapes, so I don't want to spend that much.
I thought worse case scenario I could go to a place like Rent-A Center and see if they had an 8mm camcorder I could borrow.
Anyway, any suggestions?
