How do I import video files from my camcorder to my mac without imovie?

Q. I don't want to edit the files, I just want the video files. But when i go into my camcorder and find the files, its unreadable on my pc. (I want to move them to my pc so i can edit them on my pc w/ sony vegas.) I want to burn the video files onto a disk and then put them on my pc.

A. Editing Sony AVCHD Video on Wins or Mac may make you feel painful, despairing, AVCHD can not upload to your expensive editor, so how to deal with it? Here you will find the solution.

Where online can I find a good dvd camcorder?
Q. I am looking for a dvd camcorder online because they are too expensive in stores. I would like a Sony, Panasonic, or Canon one but Ill take whatever works nicely. I cant seem to find one on ebay or Amazon thats in my price range or working. The ones on ebay get up to $300.
Do know of any other site where I can buy nice working camcorders cheap?

A. Nowhere.

There is no such thing as a "good" consumer grade DVD camcorder.

Please adjust your requirements - miniDV tape has best available video quality but your computer requires a firewire port. Flash memory and hard disc drive use USB to transfer the files but you usually need to convert them to a file format your computer can deal with if you want to do any editing.

Consumer DVD based camcorder barely make useful doorstops.
