How do you get the thing off the TV when you playback a cassette tape from your camcorder?

Q. When you pause a tape on your TV screen after playing it back on the camcorder-

The crap at the top of the screen with the battery life showing and the minutes. Is there any way to take that off or make that not on the screen when you pause the tape?

A. You dont mention the make and model of the camera but there should be a setting to turn off and on the display. you may find it under the view finder/screen

Can you help me pick out a quality camcorder?
Q. I've never owned a camcorder before..I've been researching and still having a hard time picking a high quality camcorder. The things that are important to me is battery life, excellent video and still picture quality (for indoor shooting too) and to be able to easily edit onto a dvd without compromising video quality. Any suggestions?

A. Hi, well I have a few suggestions, I recently researched this also, I decided on the Panasonic PV GS300, I have also heard the Panasonic PV GS500 is very good, however I wanted a more compact camcorder, therefore I went with the 300, by the way this is a minidv camcorder. I had talked with a guy from best buy and researched online and decided on this camcorder. For best research I suggest the below address... http://www.camcorderinfo.com/
And for the best deal on a camcorder I suggest the below website...

I got my pvgs 300 for $380, the msrprice is around $600!! Pretty good I think!! Hope this helps and good luck!
